Course Curriculum Overview

3

curriculam provides foundational knowledge in Progreamming and algorithm, exposure to emerging technologies, practical learning and project work. Curriculum provides real world application with practical learning and problem solving skills. It contains coding assignment , lab work and project work which is very useful for further studies. we dont have up to date tools and technologies . we have to work on newer frameworrks and programming language and increase the number of project based on hand on courses. There are 2 semester in a year and paper level is very difficult.

Placement Experience

3

After the 6th semester one becomes eligible for campus placement . Many companies such as infosys TCS , Accenture ,are recruiting companies for our college. highest package offered was 9 LPA and average pakage is 3.5 LPA .60% students are placed in our college. I have planned to pursue mtech in IITs

Fees and Financial Aid

fees per year including academic fees , mess fees , tution fees, hostel fees , development fees , lab fees , registration fees , caution fees is nearly 1.55 LPA. SC/ST have just a few relaxation . I am a TFW candidate and my fees is 70,000 less from the above mentioned college fees. There are many scholarship that college provides. all the government scholarship like e-medhabruti scholarship , post matric scholarship are provided by the college .

Campus Life

4

anuual cultural fest avahan is held every year in the month of march. Library dont contaim a lot of books. classroom are digital with projecter. some of the classroom are air conditioned. There is a lot of extra curricular activities such as song dance sports and so on. we have 4 clubs named Cultural, Innovation , Sports , literary for organising diiferent cultural and technical events in the college.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel has single room double room and hall room which can accomodate 4 student. Menu of the meal is very bad. Breakfast and lunch is good and dinner is very dissapointing. hostel application form is given by the college through which one can register and cost is 12000 per year

Admission

I have applied for other colleges but I got tution fees waiver scheme in samblpur university and this is the reason due to fees vwaiver i pursed btech from this college. No, I havent been rejected from any of the college but due to TFW college i prefered this college. TO take admiison one must have to pass the JEE Mains with a flying colours . JEE and OJEE exam are the accepted exam in our college . cutt of is 75%ile .

Faculty

4

There are nearly 50 faculties for 1500 students in overall college. Faculties are very cooperative , well educated and highly knowledgeable. CSE department has cooperative teachers where as ECE has highly talented teachers. some faculties behaviour is very dissapointing still overall rating to too good exams are very difficult. Its very difficult to pass in the semester. Still it solely depend on the student how hardworking he/she is.

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
