My honest experience

The exams could be difficult if you dont maintain class notes and dont attend the classes regularly . But if u folow through the teachings of faculty you could easily pass the exams. The reason i chose this course is because of my own interests and it being highly demanding in future.

Placements are pretty good for mechanical students with an average package of 5 to 6 lakh per annum. Matter fo fact last year in the year 2023 highest package over all departments was from mechanical a student got offered 11 lakh per annum as his first salary. Plus this collge offers many further study programs also, there is 3 +2 program where u complete 3 years of your btech in vel tech and go for 2 years masters abroad so withing 5 years you would have completed your btech as well as masters.

So the fee per annum for a mechanical engineering student is around 90000 rupees,registration fee costed us around 10500 rupees. There's no extra fee for any labs or such everything is included within the tuition fee. When u talk about other branches such as computer science they have an annual tuition fee around 150000 rupees. For hostels 4 in one AC room per annum would cost you around 128000 rupees including food ,laundry and wifi.. Non ac 4 in one rooms would cost you 118000 per annum.

Infrastructure is moderate noting spectacular or luxury its decent. Monthly multiple competions are held for students to joing for free ans show their skills , for example public speaking group discussions etc.. the winners are awarded with cash prize. There are n no of journals available in the library. The main annual festival of veltech is LAVAZA. Which is held in between the momth of april and march Its a 3 day event and a wonderful experience to attend.

I live in a 4 in one room where you will be having 2 washrooms (depending on the hostel you choose)and 4 cupboards one for each. Meals are nutritious and filling we are given non veg ( chicken ) 6 times a week . There is a seperate mess for vegetarians also the food in both mess is maitained and served hygienically.

The reason for me to choose this college is mainly beacause of its very inexpensive fee structure,hostel facilty and placements in my respective course ,which gives this university a better option for me to choose over any other. Other universities to which i first applied either did not have good hostels or were too expensive .

The faculty are really good and understanding ,they would help you to tackle your problems and doubts,so feel free to ask them . In a semester which is 6 month long we have 3 unit test 2 midterms and finally the end semester exam. Exams are not so tough if you have the proper material to study with ,if you attend classes regularly and maintain proper notes you can easily pass all the exams. I can name many faculty members who have been the best to us ,Sathyaseelan sir and bharani chandar sir who teach us subjects Engineering mechanics and Materials and matellurgy . These couple of teachers there way of teaching is loved by all the students present in class due to the friendly environment they create in class to ask n no of doubts and to not worry about being scold. If you still have not understood the concept in class you could go to the respective faculty members cabin and they woudl personally teach you.

I was international admission so did not get to face any interviews or such.. The criteria for admission is to pass in your 12th and have and overall percentage of atleast above 65 percent to get easy admisison with no extra fee.
