Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Our college follows the syllabi prescribed by Anna University. However the college also creates its own calendar and uses innovative methods to devise and deliver the curriculum. It offers experimental learning through field work, project work and regular internships. It also provides add on courses in consultation with leading industries and companies. Exams are conducted on a regular basis with a frequency of one internal exam a month with a moderate difficulty to equip us for the semester exams.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The training and placement cell organises internships for final year students at leading companies including in-plant training to gain real time exposure. We were given tasks and were asked to do mini projects as per the requirements and were given training also accordingly.Best performers were acknowledged with rewards also.

Placement Experience

4.5

We got placement opportunities in the final year (i.e) 7th semester. Over 103 companies including reputed companies such as Zoho,Infosys,Wipeo,TCS visited the campus and made 1100+ offers. The average package offered was 3.74 LPA and highest package was around 8.4 LPA.Over 85% of the students were placed in good companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fees for my course (ECE) came around 75000 per year and now it has been increased by 15%.I belong to SC community but i was not able to avail the reservation benefits as my parents' annual imcome was beyond the benchmark income provided. The fee for SC/ST students who met the criteria was 56,000. I was a day scholar and my transport fee via bus was around 50000 per year which was quite affordable for me as i need to travel for more than an hour on a daily basis. My friends stayed in hostel and incame to know about the hostel fees including mess food and accommodation as 1,20,000 per year. The ambiance with respect to the campus and hostel was neat and tidy with spacious blocks and good laboratory facilities.Labs were equipped with state of the art equipments with proper safety measures as well.

Campus Life

4

Many expos,Competitions both related to our course and not related to outpr courses like poster making ,fire less cooking, art from waste, vegetable carving etc were conducted.I got first prize for poster making and art from waste competition. We had culturals on an annual basis but it was not as fun as other colleges and were slightly inclined on educational aspects. Sports and extra curricular activities were given importance and students were made to join in various clubs like rotract club,NSS,NCC.Many conferences and career improvement programs were held on a regular basis.

Admission

The college provides us with wide range of features such as well equipped campus, library and labs. The faculty members were well qualified and responsive. The offered many carrer guidence programs and had good placement records.I was looking for all the above mentioned features near my home town Madurai and i found PSNA to be the right choice as it plies over 60 buses for students and staffs.I also applied for other colleges in Chennai but prioritized PSNA for the above mentioned reasons. The admission process was very smooth with 600rs admission fee and minimal process and time saving too.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty to student ratio is 381 faculty members to 6511 students. The college has strong faculty team with 176 Ph.D holders and an average of 10.25 years of experience in teaching. Our DSP mam,Mrs.Sridevi is my favourite faculty. Not only she has mastered the subject but also made us understand the concepts easily, adding to that she was a kind loving person too. We had exams on a regular basis about 3 internal exams before every semester exam which made us ready for the higher level exams as well.

Other Applied Colleges

SRM Institute of Science and Technology - [SRMIST] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I did not opt for this college due to the long distance from my home town.As I wished to be a day scholar with a good learning outcome I chose PSNA CET

top tech companies will come to our campus for replacement some of them are Amazon, JP Morgan, TCS, cognizant according to our skill level, they will choose before applying for any company. And the average placement they offer is 7-10 LPA. You should pass some exams in our college, which is held by our placement cell, so those are pretty much annoying nearly 10 exams they will put just for applying for each company.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculums are good (it depends on depts) and they are updated and new electives/ cbcs are added thus updating curriculum and there are subject with heavy lab which don't have end sem instead lab and only internal which is not what other colleges have. they also have open book test for subjcts like programming languge so students can focus on learning the language instaed of memorizing. however as we are batch of a new regulation we are not aware of kind of questions that would come. however forthcoming batches won't be having this issue. unlike other collges only 2 internal exams and 1 semester is conducted. both the internal is given equal weightage ( having unit 1&2 and 3&4 for each exams) and retest is also conducted for internal however even if one exam not written they need to write all 4 unit incase of health issues etc. 50% internal and 50% external. so if having good internal can easlity score well in total. However if one fails to secure internal then passing the subject becomes very hard. Core subjects however prepares well for real-world. however i feel curriculums should be slightly revised so that students learn everyhting systematically instead of memorizing. Sometimes academic calendars are not given prior
