Course Curriculum Overview
I would rate the course curriculum in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness a solid 9 out of 10. Some changes can be made like they conduct 2-3 exams for a particular subject as it carries more credits...but that creates a hovoc among students with 10 exams for just 6 subjects.
Placement Experience
There are no official placement drive organised by the department. But the faculty do refer students to some of the top industries of at various research organisations according to the students preference.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yearly fees after all the tuition fees and examination fees for 2 semesters accounts a total of approx 20,000 per year. Also students with Maharashtra quota and othe backward classes quota recieved various scholarships yearly which ranges from 6k-12k per year approx.
Campus Life
Infrastructure is great. There are various sports events, cultural events conducted by various departments....but you need to constantly look for them. Also department do organises sports day traditional day and other festivals are also celebrated in the department.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is average the mess food not so good and there are issues with the hygiene and electricity in the hostel. If you can afford a pg then go for it...they cost aroun 6k-10k within proximo to the campus.
Admission
I chose SPPU as it has high ranking on NIRF list of colleges. Also I got central University of Tamil Nadu but it was too far from my home so I chose SPPU. The admission process requires a entrance test conducted by sppu all over the country.
Faculty
Faculty members are all very well educated and have a strong knowledge of their domain. As far as the course structure is concerned during 2 years the curriculum covers almost all the important subjects and we also had a chance to choose python and Java as elective subjects. SPPU has a marking scheme of its own which can be checked on its website.
