Remarks :
The college is located outside a small village called Lonere which is on Mumbai Goa highway. The location gives goosebumps in the summertime due to the high rising temperatures and things like flu on rainy days due to the enormous humidity. But a position thing here is that you'll get a lot of free time to prepare for government exams or even gate exam. The only thing you will need to take care of is not to get distracted by the engineering things like getting an addict to web series and movies and you'll go along fine.
Course Curriculum Overview :
By the courtesy of the excellent and highly experienced and educated course development team, new courses which are recently developed and world class and contain most of the things which any student will need to get a well paid job and to develop the perfect and employable skillset.
Placement Experience :
Training and placement cell is in the full form this year and is anticipated to be in the same for upcoming years too. Placement is not as good as you will expect them to be, but still, the TNPC will try to get the best available for you. Due to the weirdest geolocation of the college, most companies do not approve the college for placement procedure.
College Events :
All the high on adrenaline evens in the college take place in the even semester starting with the Republic day in January and ending with the Ranasangram(inter-department sports competition) at the end of April. The state level technical event Cynosure is conducted at the end of March, In which while of the college participate with full enthusiasm and all the Josh.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fees depend category wise. For my part of admission (2017-18) Fee structure is as follows: Open: 78,630. OBC: 41,803. SC: 9,303. ST: 9,203 The thing is the college is located in a rural location. So there is nothing to spend money on, other than food. So you can expect to save a lot if you choose this college.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
College does not offer any scholarship or loan facility. Although all government scholarships are made available by the college for students. All you'll have to do is just fill the form and wait for its confirmation. You can always ask the senior faculties for help and they will surely try to help if any feed issues are there.
Campus Life :
Extracurricular activities in the college flourish only in the even semester here. Almost none of the sports other than indoor games like table tennis, carrom, badminton can be played in the odd semester due to the mercy of rain and men heightened grass on the ground. All labs are well equipped with the necessary instruments and software.
Hostel Facilities :
I used to live in the hostel in my first year, but I left the place as it was more horrible than horrible. So make your decision wisely. There are 5 hostels in total for all, 3 for girls and 2 for boys. The junior hostel (1st year only) is horrible and will match all your expectations of the bad hostel stories you might have heard form many people. The senior hostel is good as compared to the prior due to students who take their fair share in maintained order in hostel learning from the junior hostel experience.
Alumni/Alumna :
In DBATU we have a very good junior-senior relationship. And we expect it to be followed along. We help each other in each and every situation. There are almost none cases of ragging or anything like that ever recorded in the College. Our seniors treated us like their own and we too try to do the same with our juniors.
Faculty :
Almost 60 % of the faculty in most of the departments except for the mechanical department is on a contract basis. The mechanical department has the highest number of permanent faculty. Although a lot of faculty is AD-Hoc they are well qualified and experienced (some might not be). It isn't always the case that the teacher will teach, so don't expect to maintain your all year lecture streak.
