Good College with ample placement opportunities

A good college which is expensive considering the fees we have to pay every year but the placement scenario is awesome here. This is a particular point that led me to this college. But the faculties should be a bit more knowledgeable as they are confined to the subject matter itself.

Entrance Exam

The course is strictly according to the syllabus followed by IIT Madras or Anna University. The course is quite a placement oriented with soft skills and presentation and speaking skills oriented. We have exams 3 times in a semester that counts as internals for 10 15 and 15 marks and the rest 10 are quiz/surprise test. The rest 50 are external university exam.

Placements are excellent considering a large number of students admitted every year. This year itself each student got 2 3 job offers and the first day of placement listed 6000 job offers which are maximum for any college. There are 3 types of placements:- Super dream offers:- more than 10L Dream offers:- 6-8L And the third is the average placement of 3 3.5L Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Cisco, Adobe, Nutanix are all the high paying companies. Internships are provided by Amazon with a pre placement offer as well as many other local companies. The stipend is around 15k per month

Our college has monthly sports events and has 2 yearly events or fests. One is Aarush which is the technical fest in which every college participates and there is much hype regarding such fests. Another is Milan which is the intercultural fest in which various colleges participate. Several notable artists like comedians as well as singers like NUCLEYA have come in previous years.

The fee structure is quite expensive but considering its a private college with such placement opportunities its acceptable. We have to pay 2 lakhs per year and also have to pay the exam fees per semester separately.

Every semester for the people securing under 1000 rank in SRMJEE they are given a scholarship of 50% fee waiver. But for them to continue receiving it they need to score a certain GPA every semester so that they become eligible. The loan facility is available on campus by various banks like SBI, PNB, etc.

Labs are quite big and are well equipped as well as the infrastructure of the college. The latest technologies have been incorporated into the systems and they are well maintained. The sports team are quite famous as they win the national level and inter college championship in Cricket, Football, Badminton, etc. There is a proper NSS unit that provides social service.

I stayed in Hostel for the first year of my engineering and made a quite lot of friends who were helpful as well as equally close but my only complaint is the cost and the food service provided by the hostel. Food is south Indian not favoring the North Indian students. The rooms are well spacious and there are AC and Non-Ac rooms separately also. There is a laundry service for the students and the wardens are quite friendly too. Food is the only complaint we had. In the second year, I moved outside to a rented flat with 3 of my friends.

Alumni are very helpful with the seniors and all being like classmates. All information regarding college is told by them and advice is quite good considering the placements of seniors. There are frequent alumni meets in College for sharing and getting a job or industry exposure.

The faculty are well trained to tackle students and are student friendly but a little strict in their actions. Most of the faculty are from the Anna University affiliated colleges and have just completed post graduation.
