What Students Say?
Likes
- The campus is good. The library is very big and good. Good sports facilities are available. There is enough greenary in the campus.
- The labs are very good. All the devices and instruments in all the labs are up to the mark.
Dislikes
- Too many exams. There is a lab mid sem and a lab end-sem exam for labs. Then there is a theory mid-sem and a theory end-sem also.
- Usually in all other colleges, if you fail in a subject, then you need to give the exam of that subject again next year but here they make you repeat
Course Curriculum Overview
The coding subjects made me choose this course. The curriculum is designed well to prepare you for the real world applications. The labs sessions play a key role in that. Exams are very frequent and they are difficult but that is good in a way because it prepares you for the placements.
Internships Opportunities
This year the companies that came for internships were Microsoft, Nvidia, Fiscer Jordan, Dell, Intel, Bolt. The roles are usually SDE. These companies offer good stipends. Usually above 30k per month. Some even give more than 1 lakh per month. My project was related to web development
Placement Experience
For internship opportunities, students are eligible from 5th semester. For placement opportunities, students are eligible from 7th semester. Companies like Microsoft, Deloitte, Black Rock, JP Morgan, Uber, Oracle, Sap Labs, Golman Sachs, HP, Infosys, etc visit every year. Every company will have different numbers of offers. Almost 100% of the students get places. My plan is to start my professional corporate career after the degree.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
The tution fees will around 4 lakhs per year but it can vary from branch to branch. For some beaches it's 3.8 lakhs but it can't be less than that for anyone. Scholarships are available under different criteria. If you family income is very less than you can show proof of that and avail the scholarship benefits if you meet the academic achievement criterias. Usually your CGPA should be above 8 during the whole course to be eligible for the scholarship.
Campus Life
The annual technical festival is named Tech Tatva which is held in October usually. All the sports facilities are available and they are very good. There are inter college sports competitions also and sports events during the cultural fest also. Books from all genres are available in the library and very well accessible. All the class rooms are well equipped with ACs and projector and white boards. There are 100+ functional clubs and student projects within the campus and they have a recruitment cycle every year. You get to learn a lot from all these clubs and student projects.
Hostel Facilities
The room are equipped with wardrobes, beds and study tables. Most of the rooms have attached bathrooms. The bathrooms are clean. The food is above average and usually hygienic. The registration of hostel is done through the hostel portal online.
Admission
I had applied to VIT. I did get admission offer from there but I choose my college over it mostly because VIT is overcrowded and there are too many students and the campus life is better here. I had applied for BITs Pilani and I got admission there also but I didn't accept it because I was not getting the branch that I wanted. It is a different branch which I didn't want. Everyone is eligible to take admission provided you have a minimum 70% aggregate in Maths and Science subjects in 12th boards. Then you need to apply for the entrance exam called MET (Manipal entrance test). Then there is a counselling period.
Faculty
The faculty is well qualified. They are approachable. There are too many exams. Usually the exams are a bit difficult but if you study regularly then it is easy pass them. The course curriculum is mostly relevant to the industry demands.
Other Applied Colleges
