Remarks

The college is average in all departments. If you are good in self studies and have a good financial condition then this college is good for you. You will miss the college life here because of the college location and no interest from the faculty on the students.

Entrance Exam

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is not up to mark as the teachers are not that well experienced in their respective subjects. They just have knowledge of the prescribed textbook. Students have to work hard and put complete effort to understand the subject.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college doesn't provide any kind of internship. Students have to search internships by themselves and the worst part is students won't get permission to carry their internship during the college hour. They must do in the semester holiday which falls in January and July. This means none of the company will take you as an intern because they provide it mostly in May or June.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placement of my college is not up to mark. Very few companies visit our college campus for recruitment. Hardly 50-60% of the students get placed from college that too at a lower package. This year till now only 7-8 companies came and recruited 30-40 students. Most of the recruiters are from merchant Navy which I guess is useless for a technical background student. Capgemini offered 5-6 students a package of 3.8 lakh per annum. Other companies like MindTree, nine leaps, planet Ganges and a few others visited till now and selected very few students.

College Events

1.5

The college is not at all good for the people who want to come and enjoy the college culture as the college doesn't organize many events. In a year there will be 2 events one is department wise which even the department people will not be knowing when and how it is going to be and the other is the college fest which will be in the month of April. The college fest is below average as they won't spend much money to conduct it. Just for namesake, they will conduct the fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is expensive compared to the kind of exposure that the student gets in the college. Apart from the college fee, they do charge more sometimes on the name of training, workshop, etc which are useless. In beginning they will tell that fee for one year can be paid in 2 semesters as per student convenient. But when the exam for the first semester of the year comes they ask to you pay the complete fee or else they won't allow writing the exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

College doesn't provide any scholarships or loan facilities. Only the scholarship provided by the state government or central government is considered. And for loan, the student has to manage themselves as the college won't provide any kind of help on this.

Campus Life

3.5

The extracurricular activities are not given many priorities here. Mostly preference will be given to local students. The labs the well equipped. Few of the labs still use old PC but still, they work well.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel infrastructure is pretty decent. Hotels for boys and girls are present on the campus. There are two canteens in the college which provides north Indian, south and Chinese food. The hostel food is average. The security of the hostel is good.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is very poor. Students won't even know who are the alumni. There will be one alumni meeting in the year where hardly 10-15 alumni turn up. Students are not allowed to meet them and they don't even come to meet the students.

Exam Structure

Every semester there will be 3 internals out of which the best two will be chosen and then their average is calculated. The external exam is managed by the VTU. It takes almost one complete month to finish the exam. The external exams are carried out in the month of June and December. Since 2015 our University has chosen to follow CBCS patter which is grade based hence there won't be any percentage.

Admission

I got admission to this college by written the entrance exam called Comedk which is held nationwide for the people who do not belong to Karnataka state and want to take admission in Karnataka. If you are from Karnataka then you can take admission through the CET exam. After writing the exam you will get a rank based on your score and then you will be called for counseling on a particular day to choose your college based in your rank. After choosing your college you can go ahead and take the required documents to the chosen college for further admission process.

Faculty

2.5

The faculty of the college is good in behavior. Most of them try to be strict at the beginning of the semester, but until the end of semester, they become soft. Few of the teachers are well experienced, and few are not at all experienced. Mostly they follow the prescribed textbooks to teach followed by PPT of the particular chapter.

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Most of the students get placed from the campus placements. Students get eligible for campus placements from the fifth semester. Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
