Likes
- I like the facility here a lot. They focus on each student and help them to reach their potential.
- Seniors here are very friendly and approachable. Xim University being a Jesuit college is very strict against ragging and my interaction with seniors has been good.
- Infrastructure in Xim University is very good. We are provided with new hostel build for girls. Apart from that we have gym, tennis court, basketball court, library and many more other things to do here.
Dislikes
- The quality of food can be improved and be better.
- One problem we have that we don't have air conditions in UG hostel. It can we very hot and humid during the summers
- Our college is very far from the main city, bhuvneshwar so it can be a little hectic to travel.
Course Curriculum Overview
The teaching methods of our faculty is very good. Rather than bookish knowledge they give us real life knowledge from their experience. There are 2 exams held each semester along with assignments and presentation. Exams are not too difficult and easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities
As I am in first year, I am not much aware about the internship now but I'll share the knowledge I have. A few companies to name that offers internships and placement here are Wipro, Amazon, Cognizant. We are still unaware about the internship opportunities because we are in first year but from second year there will be seminars and councilling to brief us about the process and our job.
Placement Experience
Our college offers placement and internships. Students and required to do at least one internship in 2nd year. We are eligible for internships from 3rd semester onwards. Students from 5th semester are eligible for placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for first year is 70,000 and it goes on increasing 10,000 each year. We are provided with books, computer facility, two libraries and many more things. Apart from that I have opted for hostel facility. Being a UG student we were provided with the newly build girls hostel. Our college provides 90% scholarship to students who got 9 CGPA by the end of each year.
Campus Life
XIM University is well known for its fests and concerts. Concerts are held every two month and some fest or competition are held every month for students to participate and show their talent. There are many clubs like dance, drama, music, art, etc for students to participate.
Hostel Facilities
Girls opting for undergraduate are provided with the new hostel build recently. We are provided with many facilities, washing machine, clean washrooms, community hall and good rooms. Our rooms are quite big and we are provided with personal cupboard, bed and a study table. Pgs and a few flats are located near our hostel to rent if you want.
Admission
I applied for Xavier's college kolkata as well and got admitted there. My first preference was XIM University so I chose this college over Xavier's Kolkata. Admission process of XIM University was easy. They held an online interview and we got the confirmation letter after a month.
Faculty
The student to faculty ratio for School of Commerce is 30:450. 30 being the faculty and 450 being students. The faculty here are quite helpful and especially during exams they are available to help us all the time. We can reach out to them whenever we want through email or other source and they will surely respond.
