Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

The course curriculum I'd say is pretty outdated. We're studying the same things people studied about 20-30 years ago. Technology has advanced and a lot of newer and better advancements have come in the field of dentistry but unfortunately, the curriculum isn't equipped to teach the students all those things. The students after completing their undergrad are incapable of opening up their own clinics to practice due to the lack of exposure to newer advancements with will affect patient comfort during treatment and negatively impact the dentist. Because of the outdated curriculum, the children are still taught about amalgam, restrictions, etc. with are not used anymore in clinical practice and they fail to thrive in the competitive outside world. The hands-on training skills aren't good, they give more importance to theory which is pretty useless in a clinical environment.

Internships Opportunities

2

We don't get any type of placements after completing 4 years of UG. You can work there as an intern for a year or pay ?2lks, leave this college and join a different college and do your internship there. The internship is primarily for providing clinical experience and during your internship, you can publish papers or do research u sees the guidance of a staff member.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every year the students are required to pay ?4lks in fees. The actual college fees is ?6lks but I pay ?4lks because I joined late the institute needed to fill the remaining seats. My fellow batchmates who joined before me pay ?6-5lks. Management fees of ?2lks had to be paid before paying fees during the time of admission. Apart from tuition fees, there is an additional fee instrument which is ?40k paid at the time of joining. However, most of these instruments are useless and students are forced to purchase new instruments over time. Furthermore, there is a book fee of 15k which has to be paid every year and additionally, clinical fees of 10k have to be paid along with book fees as cash (no records are maintained for clinical fees, but it's compulsory to pay it). Unfortunately, there were no fee reductions offered during admissions to students belonging to the communities that are eligible for reservations such as SC/ST. Overall the cost goes beyond Tution with hidden many expenses.

Campus Life

2.5

Throughout the academic year, you only get to experience one event - MOKSHA, and that too will be held on the weekend (Sunday) so that they don't have to give a holiday the next day. Apart from that cultural event, there is nothing to look forward to. There is a music band but I don't think it's functioning right now. There are no club groups. It's only moksha which will have a lot of sports events starting from April and extending till June, with the culturals part lasting for 3 days.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

I stayed in the hostel for 3 years. They only have very limited number of AC rooms. And you cannot get a single room. The food quality is terrible. God knows the number of times I've found rocks, sticks, stones, hair, insects and what not in the food. You will get food poisoning atlest once or twice a week and if you complain they will blame you for that. You cannot get food from outside and u have to eat whatever food they give in hostel. The mess ladies can be very rude sometimes. Dal and sambar are runny and have to be drank like soup. Registration is done during the time of admissions and they charge ?140000 for non AC rooms + food and ?17000 for AC rooms + food. And from what I've heard from my friends who stay in AC rooms, the AC hardly works.

Admission

One of the major reasons why I chose this college is because it's a city campus and I wanted to study in this particular location. I hadn't applied to other colleges because I joined pretty late and most of the colleges had closed their admissions. The admission procedure was done online with the help of an agent. I also couldn't apply for state Council long after Neet because I didn't have a nativity certificate

Faculty

4

Most of the faculty in this college are very experienced and have deep knowledge. I really like the staff of OMFS dept, pharmacology dept, pathology dept and biochemistry dept, microbiology dept, oral pathology dept, Endodontics dept, prosthodontics dept, orthodontics dept. this is because the staff from these depts are very friendly and approachable. I'm forever indebted to them for teaching me things that I failed to under, starting from the basics. when it comes to disliking, I was not very fond of Dr. Mustafa from dept of anatomy, coz never taught well and was rude all the time. Another not-so-favorite dept of my would be dept of periodontics because apart from a few the undergrad staff members were very uninterested in teaching average students like me. They wouldn't even be ready to guide you even if ur hardworking and try your best. There will be 6 internal assessments in a year (except final year which is split into 2sem''s). On avg 30 students fail to clear IA's.

Course Curriculum Overview:

.I honestly am not very interested in the course and still trying to adapt to it .The course would either lead you to the path of MDS in several departments and thereafter a Phd or simply a BDS degree would also make you a dentist. . The course needs more simplification and easy to understand books, easy to understand lectures and easy to follow practical work to get a knack of it. . Internal assessments are held almost once in every 2.5 to 3 months and a year end university examination that includes theory and practical exam that requires students to pass in order to be promoted to the next year. . Anatomy, Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Pharmacology are the hardest. Physiology, Microbiology and Oral pathology and Histology are the easiest.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is vast. But dental also deals with practical skills. So it's not that hard. The exams can be hard if you prepare at the last minute. But otherwise it's manageable. We write 3 IA and one final paper. And we get to write a mock paper before the finals. We'll be having model practical exams as well before the final practical exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course curriculum in the first year is quite good and gives a strong base . Subjects like anatomy, physiology and biochemistry are detailed and help us understand the basics needed for later years . Curriculum helps us to improve skills through labs and dissection . Exams happens regularly- we have internal assessments every months , class tests, slip tests, practicals and university exam. The frequency is fine , but the difficulty depends on the preparation . The one year compulsory internship with stipend is also very helpful in moulding us as a great dentist . Overall , the curriculum does a great job in laying down the foundation . Because of the high patient flow our hand skills will also become improve. So it helps in professional growth .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I just always like art and biology! Dentistry was one field that included art and biology at the same time! This is what influenced me to choose this course! The college prepares you the the NEET MDS exam that is what is the NEXT exam I've talked about. And as dentists we become very precised and and excellent with out hands skills and digital designing better than students of other colleges. I don't think I have anything to say for that where they should improve..I like they're style. The NEXT exams get completed within 1 week or 2 and the University exams gets over by a month
