Some things to know before you get into KSID

I chose this course because i wanted to become a graphic/ UI UX Designer. The curriculum doesn't really prepare you for real world applications personally in my case but the faculties there really help you with it. The curriculum must be updated and altered with help from Designers across various fields. The frequency and timings of exams are fine and they are not very difficult if you know basic sketching.

Students from our college has received internship offers from big companies such as Tata, Royal Enfield, etc for the roles of creative designers in product and communication. The projects are related to the respective field you're interested in and the outcomes have been great

The tuition fee for a sem is 75000 Rs. with an additional amenities and lab fees of 9000 Rs. Per year. The registration fee is about 25000 Rs. with a caution deposit of 10000 Rs. The fee structure is same for all the students regardless of their categories. Minority/reserved students can apply for scholarships provided by the government such as egrantz, NSP, etc which will cover all your fees for an entire year.

Currently only one annual festival is held in campus which is Meet The Creator which was lastly held on February 2024. The library is filled with great books and covers a huge variety of topics and will help you overcome difficulties if you have any. The classroom is provided with WiFi and has really functional tables and chairs. There are various sports and extracurricular activities held in the campus led by the sports club of the college which includes almost every outdoor/indoor sport. There are a lot of student run clubs such as arts club, sports club, music club, games club, media club, mess committee, etc.

The room has 24 hour WiFi, required furnitures and other basic amenities. The meal quality is awesome with the menu offering both veg and non veg meals. The registration process for hostel is very easy and it is affordable at 12k a year considering the availability of WiFi and furniture.

Other than this college i applied for NIFT and the World University of Design. I didn't go for NIFT because it was too fashion centered. I was accepted into WUD but rejected it because it was too expensive, far from home and straight up felt like a scam. Which made me choose KSID because it seemed genuine, affordable and easier to reach. You can get an admission by appearing for KSDAT aptitude test which assess your skills required to be eligible for this course. The preferred cutoff for this exam is 20-50 and the overall admission process was great.

The faculty to student ratio is 15:1 and all the faculties are easily approachable. My favourite faculty is Sreeram because he provides great insight and feedback to improve your project. The faculty I didn't like is Prashana Prashanth because she seems to target you sometimes. Students are marked mainly internally with an external jury for a subject and 1 or 2 external theory exams depending on the semester. Almost every student clears the exams. The course curriculum is pretty relevant but outdated in some instances.
