What Students Say?
Likes
- The capacity of my batch is very less, that gives all the students to gain more individual attention from the teachers.
- The teachers are friendly, interactive, and very helpful.
Dislikes
- Some subjects are dry, so there’s a lot of theory which is a little difficult to gulp.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to learn to read more, and also understand the Indian as well as the English literature. There is one subject names Indian literature in English translation, so the curriculum has certain poetries and a novel for the 1st semester, and it's awesome. The novel is 'Samskara' by U.R. Ananth Murthy. The people who want to pursue writing or literature for that sense in the future, this course is perfect for them.
Fees and Financial Aid
Admission fee, Library, Corpus, Gymkhana, Eligibility, Insurance, Registration Fees, etc, all of this amounted to 5530/-. And administrative charges, internet charges, campus conservancy fees, etc amounted to 1950/-. So the total fees paid by me only for the admission process in the college was 7480/-. I am a Hindu, in the general, open category, and the fees applicable to me for M.A. Course was 7480/-. There are scholarships available for the students of reserve category, @ 50%. My course has 4 semesters, for each semester we have to pay 860/- as exam form fees, so that's 3440/- for the whole course.
Campus Life
So this is my first year with the college, I haven't explored much yet, but I can surely say, this college holds events, competitions and festivals time to time, as it's extra curricular activities, sports departments are very active as well. The library is vast and all the books related to the curriculum as well as general are available in the library.
Admission
I applied for a film school, who's result got delayed, and I got to know that I got rejected. By that time all the colleges in Mumbai has closed their admission windows, but Pune University has just started taking admissions, so this was the first college I applied for and I got in instantly, because the capacity was less and they wanted more students in that course. I graduated through BCom and yet I was accepted in M.A.
Faculty
The faculty is very very approachable, friendly and helpful, as I said earlier. They will help you with everything, once you reach out to them. I personally liked the literary criticism and Indian literature faculties, as they were the subjects which seem comparatively interesting to me. There's no 'best' faculty as such. All of them are great. There are 4 semesters in the M.A. course. Each semester has 6 subjects, those 6 subjects are divided into internal marks and external marks, i.e 70 marks for each subject is in the hands of the University, and 30 marks for each subject is attained through internal exams, i.e through college. The exams are pretty easy to pass, if attended classes regularly, because then you know what to study and what not to. The course is about Literature, so the curriculum is appropriate for the course.
