Remarks

Overall, it is a very good college to do your MBA. You would learn a lot in SIBM-B.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course is spread over 2 years, 4 semesters- the first 2 semesters are common for the whole batch and the next 2 semesters are the Specialization papers. All the courses are fairly updated with the latest information, and the courses have a 60:40 split of Internal: External. The internal assessments would include OLTs(Online Test), Presentations(Group and Individual), Projects and Assignments. The internal assessments have helped me a lot in building myself as a professional as it helped me get rid of my lack of experience with talking in front of an audience and there was proper constant feedback by the faculty for the same.

Placement Experience

3.5

If placement is your prime concern, Finance would be the specialization to go for as there are major huge financial institutions coming for finance placements. As far as placements are concerned, major recruiters are JPMorgan, Genpact, Dell, Deloitte, etc. Other major corporations that come for placements include ITC, RB, MTR, Mahindra Finance, Spar, Pantaloons, Lifestyle, etc. The college also provides opportunities for the Summer Internship Program and you also have a chance of cracking a PPO during your internship.

College Events

4

The flagship event of the college is Revelation where various students from different colleges come to SIBMB to attend and participate in the various events which are games in the management field(Marketing, HR, Operations, Analytics, Finance), Sports(Futsal, Basketball, Badminton, Gaming competition), Business related(B-Quiz, B-Plan). It also had a MUN(Model United Nations) competition where you represent a country. Other events conducted are Utthaan hosted by the Social Responsibility Committee which is aimed at the underprivileged children from shelter homes, Alchemy which the management conclave where many delegates from the corporate world join, Utopia which is organized by the International Relations Committee. The college also hosted the MTV Colors of Youth last year. The college also has its own TEDx that happens every year. The college has alumni events like Samaresh where the alumni go and have a talk and meet session with the new batch and Samaagam where it is the alumni meet.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees were around 14.5L and spread over 4 installments. This includes tuition fees, materials, stay(hostel) and hostel mess. It is a little bit on the higher side, and when ROI was taken into consideration, it takes time more than the other colleges to get your ROI.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not avail any scholarship or a loan for my education. But, as far as my knowledge, it is easy to avail a loan from all major banks for education in this institute.

Campus Life

1.5

Campus life, though hectic, was awesome and fun filled. There always was something or the other to do as work but then you also find your bit of time for unwinding yourself. The gender ratio was 52:48 and people all over India come down to SIBMB. Also, college is very welcoming when it comes to International Admissions.

Hostel Facilities

2

Since it is a residential MBA, the hostel fees are included in the fees. The hostel facilities are mediocre, it is an option between a triple or a double sharing room. The hostel mess and the food provided aren't great and I had resorted to other measures for my daily meals.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network of this college is strong and in contact with the college regularly. As mentioned above, the event Samaavesh helps students know about the corporate world and what to expect and Samaagam keeps all the alumni in touch. Seniors are extremely friendly and helpful.

Admission

Symbiosis International University has its own aptitude test for MBA aspirants called SNAP which takes place right around the time of other tests like CAT, CMAT, and XAT. Apply on snaptest.org and then select the colleges you intend to join. Post the results, your results are checked by the selected institutes and you would be called for the next process towards the admission which is the GE-PIWAT(Group Exercise-Personal Interview and Written Ability Test). If you do well in that process, then you'd be selected to that institute.

Faculty

5

The faculty of the college consisted of professors who were experienced individuals from different fields in the business world. They were well versed with the content they had to teach and along with it they also did give a lot of real-life examples.

Placement Experience:

Placement is pretty decent with an average of nearly 15 lakh per annum CTC, and it's an increase of 10 percent over last year. The highest package was 24 lakhs and the median of around 15 lakhs. Of course, ROI is always a question mark but brand SIBM helps in overcoming it.
