Likes

The college felt a academically great place to horn our skills and improve ourselfs.
The different clubs in colleges makes us to come out of our comfort zone and to intract in the society
The faculties are all well experienced and always ready to help.

Dislikes

The cultural events are very numbered and the college doesn't encourage to do more.
The college lacks of supporting sports.There are very less sports materials and lack of indoor and outdoor game spaces
Sometimes it feels like they only care about our academic performance only.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose the artifical intelligence because of the wide spreading of this new technology. This will be a high demanding job in comming future . From on to the 2nd year this enters into its core papers .

Internships Opportunities

There are many intership opportunity provied in the college. Encen though i haven't applied to any , i know some senior's taking it . There are many companies and innovetors that are concentrating in these.

Placement Experience

There is a very effective placement cell that helps the final years to get placed in a very good company, they train you to get picked up and improve your skills and coach you to perform good in interviews .And there are around 30%+ students were placed in this year with average salary of 3lakhs+.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees for me 62000 which is to be paid by half during the 2 semester's in a year. And the rest like lab fees , registration fees all are included in this 62000 . I am in management seat and those of merit seat they have only 42000 around .There are also many scholarship for the different students based on categories and etc..

Campus Life

The technical fest , college days , arts day , sports day are the most important days over a year . And these are conducted by the students itself ,makes us to do challenging things and improve our managing skills.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel is provided by college itself. It is well maintained and good food also . The hostel is good for studying and compain study makes easier to study well.The hostel fee per month is 5,300 including stay and food .

Admission

I choose this college because of the couse i choose that is artificial intelligence and data science .This was the only government college to my knowledge that provided this course.And i got admission based on my 12th marks.

Faculty

All the faculties are very approachable and very helpful. They are even not bothered to help you in intervels and in free peroids .There are 2 series exams in a semester before the university semster exam .Because of these 2 series exam we cover more than 90% of syllabus for the semester exam , which makes semester exam little bit easy.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Is engineering here worth it?
