What Students Say
Likes
- It is a riverside campus and is really beautiful.
- The faculties here are really supportive and knowledgeable.
- The library here is really good with spacious sitting arrangement and a wide variety of books to study. And also there is a cinema hall in the campus where we are shown movies.
Dislikes
- The Seniority culture. We have to call the senior by sir here and they are very rude.
- There are too many rules and regulations to follow like I can't roam around the campus after 10:30, I have to take permissions from faculties, warden etc to leave the campus. I have to wear uniform in college wich I absolutely hate.
- The freshers party here was very bad. Every student has to seat in the auditorium just to see dance clubs perform and fresher candidates perform, there was nothing for other students. It was really boring.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because it was my dream from childhood to become an engineer. The curriculum here is very good with practical and theoretical knowledge having the same priority and regular exam system allowing us to keep our knowledge in check. I don't think that the curriculum and teaching methods here needs any change.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have to pay yearly 5 lakh rupees and it is not increasing. I have to pay 5 lakhs together before each year starts as there is not any installment system. Out of the 5 lakh, 1 lakh and 80 thousand is hostel fees and the remaining is college fees.
Campus Life
The annual tech fest known as ambiora is held every year with various types of things organized like hackathon, esport event, mock placement competition, workshops etc. The Ambiora is held every year in February for two days. The annual festival known as Protsahan is held every year for 3 days where there are different food stalls organised by students, dance battles, drama, singing, talent hunt, different games like paint ball, sumo wrestling, Jenga etc, and finally the event that whole college waits for every year - DJ night. In my first year, DJ chetas came to our campus ,and last year Karan kanchan came to our campus. Library here is very spacious with variety of books and journals. There is smartboard in every class and 15 labs with 30 computers in each.Every year flavium is organised which is annual sports week where students compete through different sports. There are many clubs like app dev club, coding club, Google DSC, Each one save one club, the writers hub, finance club, CSI et
Admission
I applied for Nirma university, bits pilani,IIT, IIIT Hyderabad and VIT Vellore. I got confirmed admission from VIT and Nirma but I chose NMIMS because of the past placements and also one of my brother graduated from here who is currently placed in Google with a really good package. I definitely got rejected from IIT because ofy percentile, got rejected from bits because I didn't make the cutoff. My college's admission process is through NMCET exam. It depends upon the rank and the number of students enrolled for exam.
Faculty
There is one faculty per subject for a division of 60 students. In Theory classes, 60 students are taught together but during labs, division is divided into batches of two. I really liked Govind Rajput Sir who taught us calculus in first year. He was a really good teacher and also the HOD of First year. He used to explain each and every topic very briefly. I didn't like Ramesh kolluru sir who taught us Probability and statistics because in labs he didn't teach us anything and just read ppts. Though he was the only teacher that didn't teach properly. The number of exams depends on the number of subjects, the difficulty of exams is average. There are 2 mid term test and 1 term end exam in each semister. There are 50 internal marks which includes mid term tests, projects, assignments etc and other 50 are from term end exams.
Other Applied Colleges
Nirma University | Computer Engineering
Because I felt that the college I am currently in is better.
