Course Curriculum Overview
This course contains several aspects and purposes such that students will gain knowledge through the course and syllabus. This syllabus also covers like organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, polymer science, instrumentation, etc. These topics are very useful for the preparation of several competitive exams such as UPSC, SSC, GATE, CSIR - NET, etc. They are also provide facilities to internship and projects for the future publications.
Internships Opportunities
For those students who enter 2nd year in master in science, the provide summer training research internship for a period 2 to 3 weeks (in both online and offline - 4 days of explanation of instrument in laboratory technology) and also allowed to do internship in various pharma companies in various cities such as chennai, ranipet, bengaluru and various sectors such as SIPCOT, BHEL, etc.
Placement Experience
For every year the university plans for placement for jobs in various sectors such as pharma, IT, drug companies, etc. Those who appeared second year in their master's degree in science (chemical sciences) and other departments are eligible for interview. For interviews, the students should secure 65% in all semester, all applicable and suitable for interview and placement in various companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure: There is a 2 years program of masters degree. The tuition fees amount about 6910 rupees per year (for OBC), 4795 rupees per year (for SC&ST). The causion deposit fee is about 700 rupees which is refundable after 2nd year, safety insurance fee is about 41 rupees per year Scholarship and assistantship (Financial support): For every student scholarship provided by the national scholarship portal (?20000 per year) For those who finished the semester's first rank, the university provides 8000 for each semester. At the end of the course, those who secure the 1st rank in whole semester papers (without backlogs) they provided a stipend for Ph.d [about 37000 per month for the first two years (JRF), then 42000 per month for next three years (SRF)] by DST - FIST.
Campus Life
The infrastructure in very nice and very clean. There is a central library in our campus with various facilities such as an internet center, online search for books and several articles for research work done by the staff and Ph.d scholars. (Library timing: 9.00 AM to 8.00 PM). In the library, there are more than 1000 books with 20 copies There are several groups in WhatsApp for sharing their notes and daily updates.
Hostel Facilities
There are separate hostels for men and women within the campus. The food is very fine. The hostel provides snacks in the evening for 3 days. The quality of the meals provided by the hostel is fine and they are affordable too. At every month's end, they provide special biriyani at night. The hostel bill costs around 3500 per month. The bathroom and toilet facilities are likely okay with that.
Admission
This university has several facilities like a library, internet center, unique laboratory, and several instrumentations (UV, IR, NMR, etc.) which are important to our course. Eligibility criteria: There is a common entrance examination for a master's in science (chemical sciences). Then the students will get admitted on the basis of their performance in the entrance test as well as their UG performance (50% of marks from the entrance test and 50% from UG scores).
Faculty
In every department, 15 to 20 students are admitted for every year, and the number of faculty is about 3 to 5 staff. The faculty are very knowledgeable persons and very kind to students. The exam scheme consists of two sessional tests and main end-semester examinations for each paper. For each sessional test, 30 to 40 marks were conducted and then converted into 20 marks. Totally 40 marks are calculated for the main exams through the sessional test. For end semester examinations conducted for 100 marks then converted to 60 marksheet). The final marks are computed by the combination of sessional tests and end-semester exams that you are obtained.
Interview Experience
Yes, there is a common entrance test for master degree in science. The exam is based on MCQ (multiple choice questions) and fill in the blanks. The exam pattern will be 100 mcq with four subjects such organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry. For every subject, 25 mcq are conducted. The final cut off for pg admission is based on the performance in common entrance test as well as the scores obtained in ug degree (50% of mark from common entrance test and 50% of marks from ug degree)
