Modern day Dental Education

The reason why I chose this course is because I was interested in the human body anatomy and biology. Subjects like oral surgery, radiology and general medicine are my current favourites. The curriculum prepares us for real life cases by including various examples of different patients. The practical quota is such that it requires the students to attend to the patient in real life scenarios in an actual hospital. These experiences gained in the clinics during the course help in better understanding the theory part of the curriculum.

My college offers a one year internship after four years of BDS. No other internships are provided. In my field experience can be gained by independently reaching out to senior dentists who have their own clinics and practicing and learning under them. The staff encourages and guides the students to prepare posters and papers and present them at various conferences.

The year wise fees for general category is 3,55000 INR. For OBC it is 2,00,000 INR. The fees for the complete course is 1420000 INR for the general category. Scholarship for students belonging to SC/ST non-creamy layer is available.

The college and students committee is very active in both cultural and sports events organised by the university and within the college as well. There are many opportunities for attending a lot of different informative conferences as well

My hostel is a private one. It has spacious rooms and a good view. The food is not bad and is reasonable. It is located within 200 mtrs of the college which is an advantage according to me as there is no travel time.

I chose this college due to it's better fees structure, infrastructure, patient load, and faculty. I applied to other colleges which were better than this one, but did not get accepted as my score wasn't enough. The eligibility exam for my college is NEET UG

For each department there are 8-10 faculty members for each batch of 100 students. Faculties are highly experienced and well qualified with years of experience. They are quite friendly and approachable. There are 3 internal exams and one final university exam. The pass percentage is 90%. The course curriculum is quite relevant with modern day examples in all the recommended books.
