Course Curriculum Overview

4

This course was designed by the leading industry experts from various MNC company like Himalayas wellness company and Emani. Course offers variety of business and job related education. Course can be improved by including incorporating more practical knowledge. Exams are neither too frequent not hard.

Placement Experience

3

Seventh semester students becomes eligible for campus placement but for all placement you need to be in the last or 8th semester of the b.Tech. Some of the companies came in this college for placement includ Himalayas wellness company, botanic, emami, Tech Mahindra, TCS etc. I plan to get a good placement in good company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees of my course is 100000 per year including hostel and tution fees. This fees is same for everyone irrespective of their cast, tribe, religion or region. I have received student loan from Bihar government under the scheme of bihar student credit card yojana for mine course

Campus Life

4.5

Name of the annual festival of this college is Gajajyoti, it is typically held in February or March. There are various other festival and events that includes kishan mela, holi, diwali, christmas, home coming, durga puja, saraswati puja etc. College has a library that consists vast variety of books and journals from various fields. Most of the classroom are equipped with projecter, computer and board. College has dedicated department for sports, cultural and clubs.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are many hostels in our campus almost all of them offers bed, fan, studying table and a cupboard. One hostel is ac hostel , where if want to stay there you have to pay extra fees. Meal quality is average not good nor too bad but menu is good according to our hostel fees. For hostel accomodation you just have to fill a extra form and pay the fees.

Admission

Admission process is same as any other private colleges but unlike other private colleges you don't need to appear in any entrance exam. My college offers vast variety of courses, mostly admission Starts from the may and end in September. You just have to come to college select the course pay the fees and take the admission here.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio is not good. College has almost always faculty shortage that affects the classes of the students. Most of the the teachers I studied were well educated but lacks motivation to teach the students.

Other Applied Colleges

Galgotias University - [GU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Mechanical Engineering)

I could not afford the cost of the course

Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
