Being a technical college the entire curriculum revolve the technology. The Curriculum is designed such a way that students can solve the social problems with what they are studying and can use technology for the development of society, semester exams are held at an interval of six months. The level of the exams are also very difficult.

Internship opportunities are rarely available in college, students are individually for online internship after college hours, and complete their internship without any distribution of academics. Internship opportunities are not available It's a weak point of GECR.

NSS unit is the most active social group of GECR, and other social groups run by students are - GDSC, Language Club etc.
