Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

My course allows me to be completely focused on my work and portfolio while keeping up with the classes. Which was a deciding factor in choosing this institution and course. My course is designed to be industry focused and when you graduate you will be familiar with the works in the industry giving you an edge. Our exams are focused on the teachings from the previous semester and usually takes place over a week with a set of tasks with clear briefs. Almost recreating the environment one would find working professionally. We could definitely work on interdisciplinary collaboration more and have more focus on grasping the skill intended to teach rather than the outcome desired as the students are still at the end of the day in the institution to learn and won't get another chance at strengthening basics.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The tuition fees might increase by upto 15% for existing students but it has increased 15% for the newcomers every year. They keep the structure unchanged after declaring it in the first year. I paid 325000 for tuition in first year including all other charges from the institution ,350000 in second and now I'll be paying 375000 this year. For Bdes courses, it doubles. There is financial aid available and payment plans for the less fortunate. Scholarship is given on the basis of merit. No placement garuntee as we believe in self sustaining which is hindered when mass hiring happens which demotivates one to explore their true potential in the field.

Campus Life

5

Fests and exhibitions are held year round with the student body run fest 'mujo' inviting artists to perform from across the country and giving a chance to the institutions own artists to perform in front of a huge crowd to test their ability. State of the art libraries, studios and equipments you could ever possibly need. From sound and foley studios to animation and green screen labs. We have it all. Campus has some of the best sports facilities you will see. A professional athlete will have nothing to complain about with the on campus gyms, multiple sports facilities and access to professional coaches from Centre of sports excellence.

Admission

The admission process is smooth as long as you pay close attention to the instructions. An entrance exam or your uceed rank is the key deciding factor. Keep in mind one will be competing with applicants from all over the country.

Faculty

4.5

I am in a class with 4 other students and that gives me the benefit of having a very close and focused interaction with the faculty. We are free to contact them whenever with any kind of issues as most of us have their phone numbers. We also maintain a very informal relationship with every faculty member and very friendly environment. Their work precedes them so we are confident in their skills to teach us their craft.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I felt it was something I would like and interesting new subjects. All my faulty for the last 2 years are from the industry guest faculty they teach well and the student ratio is less as it is a new course. It was a 3-year course but now it has become a 4-year course. It wasn't difficult to pass if we concentrate and listen to the classes

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am very passionate about photography and cinematography. Hence, a filmmaking course is what I wanted to do after my 12th grade. In each semester we had six subjects and had six different professors for each subject for a class of around 40 students. And during my time at St. Joseph's College, I had the opportunity to be trained and molded by exceptionally knowledgeable and highly qualified professors who made sure that the students are able to capture the in-depth nuances of filmmaking and appreciate it. I treasured all the classes to the fullest because the professors made them genuinely enjoyable. The term exams always took place on time with three theory and three practical examinations. These examinations are quite simple if the students prepare well for the exams and study according to the syllabus given by the professors.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because of my inclination towards storytelling, but I could never choose a specialization and absolutely no direction as to what I wanted to become but I knew it was supposed to be something related to Films. I was interested in Writing, Photography, and Cinematography and this course seemed like a whole package. We were taught Basic and Advanced Photography, Script Writing, Cinematography, Editing, History of cinema, with of course other theory subjects like English, New media, etc. The Faculty of practical subjects were often visiting faculty from the industry. Other faculty members also give you the best of their knowledge and are absolutely kind. The best thing about the course is they don't spoon-feed you. You will have to take initiative when it comes to creative projects. They update the course yearly and try their best to provide the students with the best of everything.
