Remarks

Good is that it participates in many of the states and national level based competition and bad is about its infrastructure.

Entrance Preview

I am a person with homesickness..... I spent my 2 years in Kota which were worse being far from home and now I didn't want to get out of my town for any further study purposes and we had one of the best in our city. I wanted to opt for Civil Engineering and for it G.Z.S.C.C.E.T is counted as one of the best among Punjab...though its infrastructure may not be that attractive as that of private colleges but still, it is a good one to base our life upon.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

First of all the syllabus is updated very early before the starting of the semester along with the recommended authors in case students want ti to start their preparation before the college starts and also official groups for all the branches are created for any queries one can just text the teacher.

Internships Opportunities

For internships, it basically depends which branch are you in. College does provide internship courses majorly in M.Sc. and P.hD.

Placement Experience

3.5

Earlier there weren't any much job opportunities but now the state government is improving the scope of jobs by bringing numerous companies in our college we yearly organize 2-3 mega job fairs recently we organized a job fair in which 607 companies came and almost 15000+ students were selected

College Events

4

We have annual sports meet and A 3-day fest called Tarranum and every branch has its own 2-day fest which and also the festivals are celebrated with equal happiness regardless of religion all just support here each other. Since its a government college so its pretty obvious that not much events are organized here.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is totally feasible and for the OBC and SC and ST there are certain policies that our college follows and also some special reserved seats for children belonging to the poor family. Plus our college sometimes raises funds to meet the fee required for some special case children.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are based on the 70% criteria i.e. if a student maintains 70% of marks each sem he/she gets a scholarship of 70% on his/her tuition fee and also for SC's, ST's and OBC's there is a 100% fee forgiving policy

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is totally amazing as we have hygienic canteens and 3-4 grounds a hockey ground cricket, handball, basketball ground and also an indoor ground for badminton purposes and open gym. We have a diff. section for Labs and applies labs are acc. built in the campus itself likewise the branches.

Hostel Facilities

4

There r 5 main hostel buildings out of which are the older and 1 is newly built the hostels have combined toilets and bathroom, common recreational room and a large dining hall and the food quality is just really superb as all though m a day scholar I still prefer eating my lunch at hostel mess coz, I can have something new and hot and fresh.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes,' the alumni cell focuses on the proper functioning of college and seniors are just so much helpful. believe me, they just enlight ur path.

Exam Structure

In each semester there are two mid-semester test and few MCQ's and home test depends on what faculty wants and what is her/his own way of marking the students and at the end, there are these final semester tests and also vivas for which the externals are called upon.

Admission

I got my admission on the merit basis that too on the basis of my JEE-IIT(MAINS) entrance exam test they also had criteria for Post-matric based admissions and quotas for regional students outer and pwds and another quota like sports quota...i were lucky to get my choice i.e. Civil Engg. in very first Counselling

Faculty

4.5

We can simply go and make a note of when the particular teacher whom we want to meet is actually having a free lecture so that there is no hustle and bustle while we ask for our doubts or any other problems all the teachers are really helpful and thought to provide their contact to contact in any emergency cases.

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
