Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Hands on approach by the staff. They provide practical knowledge to students which makes it easy to understand and remember the concepts taught. The practical knowledge we get in the postings also help us along with the knowledge provided by the faculty for real world applications. As for improvement curriculum should involve more of the field work and student involvement and also promote research based study. The frequency of exams is with respect to the time table provided by MUHS so I guess it won't be much different from any other medical college in Maharashtra.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

I have yet to complete my course and receive internship so I can't tell anything about it now. But anyways the college has own hospital associated with it where the interns practice their internship. Colleges also has othe r subcenters and phc's under it.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee for mbbs for this college is around 1,25,000-1,400,00 I guess. There is not much increase in the tution fee per year but ig slight in range of thousand. Although the the tution fee increses, other expenses involved in the fee structure go on decreasing with the subsequent year if you enroll in the course. There are various scholarships provided by MUHS itself which you can check on Mahadbt site by government of Maharashtra. But these are for only the state quota students I don't know about other quota.

Campus Life

3.5

Manomay :- Most important and biggest event that occurs in this college. Occur in the celebration of Ganesh chaturthi with a duration of 5 days. Various activities are arranged by the organising batch and the whole college takes part in it. For more information you can check the YouTube channel of this college. Other events like Shiv jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti, Holi have been celebrated in the recent years which I guess will be carried on and with greater expence and auspiciousness. So making them worth for the future student to attend. There is vast variety of books you can get in the central and respective department libraries both. The library facility is also one of the best you can get in the state. Not much extracurricular activities are present at the moment but the ones present include volleyball, table tennis. No social run student groups at the moment.

Hostel Facilities

4

As infrastructure is the plus point of this college. The rooms provided are best compared to any other GMC in Maharashtra. Once you get a room you get a table, a bed and a cupboard. Rooms are spacious enough to accommodate more than 3 people along with their belongings. Each room has a separate toilet and bathroom attached to it unlike most government medical colleges that have communal toilets. One mess is present in the college campus and one canteen in the building both rated poorly in terms of taste, food quality and hygiene. Registration for hostels can be done on the same day of admission asthe hostels are not far from the college and are present in the campus itself.

Admission

To enroll in the course you need to get a safe score int he National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) for Undergraduates. Which can range different for different categories. Cutoff for this college was somewhere along 590. You can find the application form on the official site of the college. The reservation policies are according to the policies provided by Indian government. Frequency of exams in coordination with the MUHS time table some might call them frequent i.e every 2 months or so. Difficultly varies over the years but they can be called moderate for an average scorer.

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is higher than most of other medical Colleges int the state. This makes pondering upon individual difficulties of students better for the faculty Most of the HOD's have at least more than 50+ years of experience and were recruited from Bjmc Pune. So one of best teaching staff you can get in the state. Teachers here are easy to approach and helpful they do remember the faces, names and problems the individual get due to the faculty to student ratio being higher.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is definately a tough course. along with being tough, it also puts some responsibilities on your shoulders as you will be treating real people with real problems in the real world as you complete this course. while studying, students should focus more on 'why' and 'how' type questions than 'what' type of questions. the major exams are conducted in 9 semesters . each semester is of 6 months + 1 year of compulsary internship.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The current curriculum is comprehensive based curriculum. Here practical knowledge is more important than bookish knowledge. So now spending more time in wards is of greater importance. Exams are held accordingly - 2 internals, 1 prilims and 1 University held by MUHS. Each exam is followed by practical examination. This curriculum will help to build good doctors rather than bookish doctors.
