Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is well designed meeting requirements of the industry. There are open category courses so that students can learn from other departments also as per their interest. You can do four months internship in the final semester to improve your industry skills. There are two mid-semester exams and one end-semester exam per semester. The difficulty level of mid-semester exams is from low to moderate and end-semester exam is from moderate to high.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

College provides lots of internship opportunities during the Summer Intership Programme in the sectors like MATLAB, Digital circuit design, Computer Hardware and Networking, Android Development, Surveying, Waste Water Treatment Plant, etc. I did my summer internship in Waste Water Treatment Plant and in the final semester, I did my internship at ICT Pvt. Ltd. and I was site supervisior over there.

Placement Experience

2.5

College offers decent placements oppurtunities. From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. In year 2022, around 50 companies visit the campus for placement and there were a total of 904 job offers. In year 2022, the highest package was of 1 Cr. and the average package was of 6,20,000. In 2022, a total of 636 students were placed. In CS and IT department, the placement scenario is pretty good but in core branches like Civil and Mechanical, the placements are very bad, only few students get placed in the whole department.

Fees and Financial Aid

1st year fees is around 1,10,000/- and from 2nd year to 4th year fees is around 85,000/-. You can pay the fees semester wise. There is a Medhavi Chhatra yojana scholarship only for the students of Madhya Pradesh. There are many scholarship for SC/ST students. SC/ST students also get tuition fee waiver. The complete cost of education for a general category student is around 4,00,000/- excluding hostel fees.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life is decent as the campus is located in urban area. College have a lot of annual fests like YOUTH FEST, which is the cultural fest of the college, CENARIUS, Ethnic Day and annual Sports Fest. Campus offers lots of sports and extracurricular activities like Inter College Sports Competition, Dance and Music Competition, etc. There are a total of 64 social clubs and groups in my college like Querencia (literacy club), TEDx Club, Sports Club, Dance Club, GDSC, Prakriti, etc. The classrooms are good and the seminar halls are also equipped with ACs and the library is digital and also equipped with ACs, having a wide range of the books and documentaries.

Hostel Facilities

3

There are 3 girls hostels and only 1 boys hostel and the hostels are equipped with sports, mess and internet facilities. The annual Hostel and Mess fees is around 1,00,000. But I opted to rent a PG and its charges where 3500 per month and the tiffin services costed around 3000 per months. The quality of tiffin food is average and not very tasty. The PGs or rented rooms are located near the college so it is easy to travel.

Admission

You have to appear in JEE Mains exam to become eligible for the admission process. After that you have to register for MP DTE councelling for admission. There is also college level councelling after MP DTE councelling for some vacant seats. After you get college in the councelling you have to report physically at the college for document verification. An other state students have to get around 85-90 percentile in JEE Mains exam and for home state students, the cut-off is very low, around 70-75 percentile.

Faculty

4

All the faculty members are very well qualified and have done their post graduation and Ph.D from top IITs and NITs but the faculty-to-students ratio is not very good. Their is shortage of faculty members in my department. But you can interact with teachers anytime during working hours. Most of the faculty members use mordern way of teaching like showing PPTs and Videos on the projector.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester onwards. Companies visiting campus are mostly mass recruiters along with a few product-based and mid-level companies. Most students receive an average package of approximately 5-6 LPA, while higher packages are offered to only a few top performers. Few seniors, whom I know got packages of 8.5 LPA, 12 LPA, and 19 LPA also, so basically higher packages are also offered but their competition is high and only some of them can make it up to that. A good percentage of eligible students receive the placement offers, mainlt in IT and service-based roles, but competition remains there, so one needs to have serious preparation on his or her own. Arond 60%+ students got placed every year from on-campuses placements. The placement cell provides training sessions and interview sessions from the third year onwards. Overall, placements can be considered decent compared to other private colleges in the region. Basically, after completing my graduation, I plan to pursue good placement otherwise prepare further for civil services after understanding career growth, however, this is not my final decision but could make a final one before the completion of course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The manit curriculum for mechanical is quite strong in basics and was a major reason i chose this course .It covers core maths ,mechanics ,physics ,electrical and wrskhopa ,which helps for higher studies and exams .Exams are frequent with midsems ,quizzes and endsems;sometimes the schedule feels packed, but it keeps us regular with the syllabus.Difficulty is moderate if you attend classes and practice .Still , some subjects feel outdated and there should be more software , projects and insustry oriented content.

Placement record is decent, campus drives happens regularly. If no campus placement is offered then it's obvious one has to struggle a bit more to get a decent job but I beleive the college makes the students capable enough to crack the campus placement if a person really is capable then their is no lack of resources from the college. Even if there is no in campus placement I think everyone has a plan B.
