Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is quite interesting on its own which made me choose this course of medicine. The whole idea of knowing about the proper health and how to maintain is what very fascinating. The curriculum prepares us for the real world because it does contain a lot of applied aspects and case histories which is very important in this course. Improvement in the course can be adding more clinical visiting to improve practical knowledge. The frequency of exams is very impactful and is actually quiet helpful for the students in kims

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Since KIMS is a hospital and a research centre, students get good internships and are helpful for skill development. There are shifts(day and night), there are placements in different departments, example: pediatric department, out patient department etc which makes us more prepared for the real job.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee is different for different quota which is around 40lakh per annum for NRI students, around 11lakh per annum for management seat quota, around 2lakh per annum for category quota. This is probably same in all the other colleges. The cost of education including tuition, service fees etc is around 2.5lakh for me. Students can apply for SSP scholarship, I get around 1lakh scholarship under state and central government.

Campus Life

3.5

There is 1-2 festivals per year. One is held during kannada rajyotsava. The other maybe hosted by the seniors in the month of march-may. There is also freshers day to the first year students. The libraries are quite well maintained and the books needed by the students are easily available and accessible. There are technical facilities which are necessary for the students which is not too difficult to access. Extracurricular activities which includes games and sports are conducted once a year and the students who are interested are encouraged and allowed to participate in whichever activity they are interested in.

Admission

Eligibility for MBBS is NEET UG which is an all India exam. You have to have a minimum eligible marks to pass the exam and to apply for medical colleges. Application form for medical colleges will be available in the office of the medical college which you need to visit. However some colleges have online application facilities. The procedure and dates for the admission and application will be provided on KEA website. The application form for the NEET UG exam will be on the NTA website . The date and fee will be notified on the website as per NTA. The exam is done yearly so the frequency is not an issue. NEET exam is a 200 minute exam which is sufficient for it's completion.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty to student ratio is quite proper because there are many teachers for a particular subject and that allows each of them to take a particular topic and teach us and give us specific attention. The faculty are all well educated and their way of teaching mostly involves a PowerPoint presentation and board teaching. They allow us to make notes of our own and clear the doubts as teaching is done. We can approach the teacher anytime during the college hours for any queries

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very comprehensive and relevant for exams but not for real world applications. I feel let the parts of body I was specially fascinating so I like anatomy very much and we also got a very good teacher, the curriculum is very good for examinations however the real wall applications of this curriculum is very little, they should be more real life applications and whatever the latest technology than studies are happening the student should get the latest info about them, timing between two exams in an internal semester should be a little more such as a day or two because we do not get time to prepare the subjects curriculum very well for the examination.
