Overview of OPERATION THEATRE TECHNOLOGY course in Ramakrishna Mission Sevapratisthan, VIMS

I am a student of Bsc Operation Theatre Technology. In this type of courses practical knowledge is very much valuable. In that sense, we get access to OT, Ward, ICU,CCU from the beginning of our study. Though we have to work hard everyday, we gain a lot of practical knowledges and experiences.

Students after completing there 3rd year, must do internship in our hospital for 1 year. After that one can get the certificate and be eligible for applying in jobs. During internship one has to do all the tasks one OT Technologist has to do in professional life.

No placement is guaranteed in our college. At the time of completion, if there is any vaccancy in the hospital, students may apply. But in market, the students of our RKMSP are valued as we have much more practical knowledge than others. We have to work hard but this adds value.

In that case, our Institute is way more mechanical. There is no social function or celebration in our hospital. It is more hospital than a college. Books and journals are accessible in the library. Class room is moderate but as said earlier. Practical learning is top notch as we learn by working in the hospital. NO STUDENT-RUN GROUPS OR ASSOCIATION ARE ALLOWED IN RAMAKRISHNA MISSION..

One must be 12th pass from science background. We Have to attend the JENPAS examination and then get enrolled in our college after getting desired rank. There is no reservation benefit. The exams are held yearly in our University. Diificulty level is medium. The admission process is flawless.

Well, the faculty is comparably reachable to students. As we have to work like staff, we need to interact with Matron, Department office and OT simultaneously. In case of any problem occured we must contact the above faculties.
