Remarks

A bad remark is that the college offers no placement, the placement should be found out by ourselves. Rest everything is fine.

Entrance Preview

I always wanted to study a course which was uncommon. So I had an interest in nautical science. When I enquired I found out this course where we get a dual degree within 4 years. Here we get a bachelor degree in fisheries as well as nautical science. Also, this is a central government institute.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

According to me, the course curriculum is good. Here there are 8 semesters which includes subjects in fisheries as well as nautical science. The subjects include marine engg, naval architecture, electronics, oceanography, meteorology etc. Even though the course offers a dual degree the primarily focused subjects are of the fisheries.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college does not provide an internship. The college only offers training programmes and not internships.

Placement Experience

1

The course has a wide scope inside and outside the country. The college does not provide any placement. The placement is all on our own. You can vmchoose your career as per your interest like if you like to stay in fisheries field then you may take the post graduation and go for that or whether if you are interested in nautical then after course completion you may go for a short-term course called sctw and after that try for sponsorship of a company.

College Events

1

First of all, this is not a college and only an institute. So there are limitations in the number of events celebrated in the college. Here no religious festivals are celebrated. Onam is celebrated. Also other days like Hindi day, independence day etc are celebrated. There are a cultural fest and a sports da held in the institute.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is not at all expensive the total cost for your entire 4 years is less than 2 lakhs. The fee for 1st semester is 42000 and fir the 2nd semester is 13000 and for the 3rd is 35000 and for the 4th is 13000 for the rest of the semesters the fee pattern of the 2nd and 3rd semesters are followed.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers no scholarship or loan programmes by itself. But the scholarships provided by the govt are accepted by the college like the grants.

Campus Life

4.5

There is no campus life here. As I said earlier this is not a college and only an institute. So there are certain restrictions on everything. The commonly seen thing is that girls are more in number. But in recent years the number of boys have increased.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facilities are very good. A room is allowed for 4 students. The hostel fees for a year is only rs 2400. The mess fees should be paid every month which will be always less than 2000. The mess is run by students and the fees are decided from the total expenses calculated.

Alumni/Alumna

There is no such network provided by the college. Only the passed out students communicate with the present students of their own. But they are helpful.

Exam Structure

There are 8 semesters. So there are a 7-semester examination for first 7 semesters and the 8th one is the project. In every semester there are 2 internal examinations. The internal marks awarded are out of 50. The external examination is out of 50. In order to pass you need to score 50 marks of 100.

Admission

I saw the admission advertisement in the newspaper and I applied through their site. There was a registration fee of Rs 500 which was to be made demand draft and to be sent to the institute. Thereafter the exam date was declared and the written examinations were completed. The marks from the test and your plus two marks are combined and the top candidates are called for interview . Thereafter candidates are selected after an interview.

Faculty

4

The faculties here are also well qualified and experienced with a minimum qualification of a postgraduate. Each subject is associated with each section for which there is a chief instructor, senior instructor, junior instructor, and other staffs. Every faculty does their duty well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

I feel in love with mathematics in plus two time. The coursee are more application based when compared to other. Out college being an autonomous college has good grip to keep up to the level of good education. Overall teaching methods and syllabus are very good. Frequency of exams are troublesome during the last time of year because all the programmes like youth festival annual day etc come together

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
