Remarks

The management is most of the time supportive. But at times they don't stand with us. Example. College tour

Entrance Preview

Among other colleges in my town, the well knows college was Vidya. And my parents didn't allow me to go away and most of my friends chose vidya and that is how I opted vidya. Vidya was among the best three colleges in Kerala and had good results and good placement drives.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course I have opted is electronics and communication engineering. The course according to me in difficult and I'm trying my maximum to clear all the papers. In the beginning, the teachers tried hard to cope up with the syllabus as it was new. The new university is really a hectic one.

Internships Opportunities

College doesn't provide internship but the faculties help us to find good internships. They have good contacts through which we can get into good internships.

Placement Experience

5

The college has a good placement drive. Many companies approach our college for placement selections. From the beginning of the third year, the college provides varieties of placement training and from the fourth year, the companies start coming in and conduct interviews and tests.

College Events

4

The college supports extracurricular activities. The main event is the arts. Where there will be a lot of competitions for the students to take part and the competition is among the different batches. The next main event is tech fest. While the different branches exhibit their technical expertise.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is about 80000 for merit students and the management fees vary for 120000 to 140000 according to different branches. The college provides scholarships for students with good marks. So, according to other colleges in the state, the fee is feasible and the college is not asking for more.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarships for students who have joined on a merit basis. They just have to pay fee below 5000. Since I am management. I haven't availed any scholarships.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is nice. There is an equal number of males and females. But in the mechanical branch, there will be only one or two girls. The college supports extracurricular activities. Most of the labs are air-conditioned. All kind of lab facilities is available. And the college promotes all the students to take part in all the activities.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is really good. The college provides accommodation for about 80 students in each branch. The hostel is not harsh on the students and they feel like home. The mess is not up to the mark. And it keeps on changing on time. At first, it will be good and then the quality starts to degrade. And it changes.

Alumni/Alumna

The senior students help hs with notes and also advised us on placement related activities. Most of them are friendly and is very helpful.

Exam Structure

There are two internal exams and the main exam in a semester. The internal exam included two modules out of six. And the main exam includes six modules. We can write the main exam only if we secure an average of 45% in the internal exam. The internal exam is out of 50. 40 for exam and 10 for assignments.

Admission

I took part in the all Kerala entrance examination for engineering and I scored 120. My rank was about 48000. That was not a good rank. But according to the previous intakes the last rank was around 45000. If I had waited for the third allotment I could have enrolled myself in merit basis. In order to secure my seat, I went for management seats.

Faculty

5

The faculty of my college is the best I must say. Yes, there will be one or two who don't come up to the level. But, the teachers and really hard working and they give their best to convey the topics to us, students. We can approach them at any time for any help.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies - [KUFOS], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Food Technology)
Reviewed on May 11, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.
