Likes

Most of faculty are qualified for masters teaching, most of them are pursuing their phd under the director and other faculty
Vibrant, campus is shared with bms college of engineering,

Dislikes

Lack of basic facility such as washroom need to visit other blocks to use washrooms

In terms of curriculum: which is set by VTU University, old and very lengthy irrelevant syllabus, but the college makes it interesting by conducting seminars vertical studios etc. So it is kind of 50:50 but the college does the best it can

Internships Opportunities

At the end of the course it's mandatory to complete a professional internship with a registered architect, for a period of 5 months, and during sem breaks students are encouraged to do internships and faculties provide links and another opportunity to competitions etc

Fees and Financial Aid

Mostly provided by state and central government through ssp and nsp schemes, most of the students from Karnataka are eligible to receive maintenance amount and also fee refund but u need to check for other state students and also companies such as Kajariaya is offering scholarships and jindal

Campus Life

The annual fest is envisage as an innovative education fest conducted by clubs of bmsca where students and their committees conduct various activities. The library is well equipped with a standard range of books and journals, one can request to add a book also. most architecture colleges don't have any facilities for sports but BMS do have sports faculty and facilities

Admission

One can get in to college through 1. KEA by attaching nata score to kcet applicable for karnataka students Exams are nata and jee paper 2 u will be alloted a rank cut off for college is around 600 2. Comed k - any one eligible in India can get set through comed k fee will be higher around 3 lac 3 payment seat - through direct application in college by donating to the bms trust of around 10 lacs are yearly 3 lac

Faculty

Most of faculty do have masters in architecture from prestigious university, most of them pursuing their phd, approach to wards discussion is kind of moderate, most of faculty kind of feel saturated in their learning, not even ready to learn new things

Course curriculum is amazing but again the aheets given and the expected submissions for a 1st yesr is too much and the pressure is high .the teaching methods r basically every 10 students r allotted to s mentor who then guides them thru the design process

Bmsca - spilt thoughts

Course Curriculum Overview:

You'll indulge in a lot of painting and are related stuff. Well since Architecture is not only about art, there are subjects which will use up your brain cells. You also get to go to study trips too! The ride is not smooth- everyday would be a submission day , everyday would be a love-hate relationship with the course. Internal reviews,external reviews, viva and jury, presentation and assignments, written exams...theyre enough to keep you busy throughout. Since its Affiliated to vtu, the system does seem not so updated to date. You cannot expect to have a month of holidays after each Semester too. Dont dream of having a pleasant vacation break.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is more condensed that other colleges', so it makes it easier to tackle multiple things at once. The course prepares us for real world applications through their dual internship program, which is a strong point in their curriculum. If the course in itself had more real world applications, instead of very superficial ideas, it would be more helpful The exams are a hurdle, but it comes with the rigor of the course, and it is something students end up adapting to over the course of 5 years.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you check with other colleges the approach to the curriculum is different and more fun. The process of learning is more fun and appealing making us satisfied of what we have done at the end. Sometimes we don't get how the teachers are expecting us to do our assignments but we figure it out some how. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-sem and end-sem).

My College Sucks

Placement Experience:

Since our HOD changed this year, I'm not sire about when the placements are available, most probably would be for the 5th year students so 9th sem onwards. Not sur3 about which companies either, highest package would be 8000 I'm guessing, we don't get paid much. My plan is to switch courses, this was absolutely useless to me :)

Comprehensive review of architecture curriculum

Placement Experience:

After 10 semester Students are eligible for placements. Yes,from last year they iffer on campus placements with highest package of 11 lakhs which is really good according to this course. average package is around 6 lakhs which is also decent. 15 out of 30 students could get the placements that is 50 percent. I am planning to pursue masters degree outside India after this course

Bms has always been a well known top tier college especially in architecture, so i had this as my option 1, and i successfully got into it. I also had rv, ramaiyah, pes and dayanand on the list. So you can get into the college by 1.cet- 50%nata + 50%board marks are considered, and accordingly a rank is given. If you're within the cut off range, you can get a seat. Else you could wait for the next round . 2. Comedk - youre an instate applicant or from other states, you can to apply for this exam. 3.Management - you pay for you seat. I choose this college as i got it from Merit seat(KCET) .My first preference was this college and got it. I preferred this college because of NIRF ranking and the it was one of the best colleges in INDIA. I was satisfied as this was my only preferred college. The main exam need to be written is NATA for qualification for furture eligibilty for state or national ranking list. College accepts NATA, KCET, COMEDK ranking list for the admission. My experience

I applied for BMS COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE because it's a top college in Bangalore. The other college i applied was Reva University and Cmr university. I choose this college as it is near the metro station and easier to travel by metro rather than facing traffic. The admission process is through Kcet, comedk, or management quota seats. You have to apply for it and enter your nata score to get rankings. I took admission through Kcet. Have your 10th, 12th and NATA scores to apply. I applied through the government portal. COMEDK. I got in after 3 rounds. There is a reservation as well but I do not fall in any category as I was applying from Kolkata to study in Bangalore. There are 2 sets of Nata exams whichever exam you score more on can be availed to use on reports further. Comed K is a time-consuming process. You have to be patient....Read More
