Course Curriculum Overview
Some of them are well structured and help you prepare for the real world. However, some courses need to be fixed so that students can gain hands-on experience. Some lab courses, like the software engineering lab and its theory course, were extremely helpful.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are not very good in our college. Companies like Sprinkler and BNY Melon did come along with some other companies. I am currently doing an Internship at Bluj Aerospace. I think the stipend details for these companies cannot be disclosed, but the information about companies can also be found on the college website.
Placement Experience
There is a dedicated placement drive for students for campus placements. However, due to the recession these days, the process is a little dull. Otherwise, I expect good companies to take part in placement drives in IITs. Ultimately, the college profile plays a major role in the type of company coming to the college for placements. Students in the 7th semester become eligible for campus placements. I think the average package is around 12L. A minimum of 50 percent definitely gets placed. All the stats for these placements can be easily found on the college website.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Students have many scholarship opportunities from both the government and institutions. One of them is merit cum means scholarship(MCM), which helps students by giving full refunds of tuition fees to the top 25% of students, which I am currently availing right now. There is also an NSP scholarship similar to MCM. Campus employment opportunities like teaching assistance can be offered to undergrad students some time but mostly will be for students in graduate program
Campus Life
There is an annual techno-cultural fest called Tirutsava at IIT Tirupati. It is very fun and interesting and goes for 3 days. Other major events like the Inter IIT technical, sports, and cultural go on for weeks. Some of the clubs like XCITE, Sargam in cultural clubs and Techmaniacs, and digital wizards in technical clubs are very involved. The college is still new, so the infrastructure is still in development; as of now, it is pretty decent. All the clubs and committees are run by the student body itself, so it is very fun to be a part of them.
Hostel Facilities
Boys hostels have single rooms, and girls currently have 2 and 3 shared rooms, which will be updated to single rooms soon. All the basic facilities like hot water and washing machines are available. The rooms are very decent and actually very well maintained. Affordability is decent. Mess food is not up to the mark. But it depends on the caterers. So once a contract is done and new caterers come, food taste depends on that. But student body has a say in the menu and caterer selection.
Admission
Since it is an IIT. Every student is supposed to qualify for JEE mains and Advanced to be eligible to enroll in any IIT. But getting admission is a different story; you have to go through a counseling process, which basically lists IITs and branches in priority order, and according to the cutoff of the top institution for which you are eligible, you will be enrolled. Preparing for JEE was excruciating but worth it.
Faculty
Some of the faculty are very well experienced and supportive to the students but some of them are not good. But honestly, such stuff happens everywhere. Most of the faculty encourage students to interact even after class timings. Some of them are very difficult to understand. The overall learning experience is actually fine for me.
