What Students Say
Likes
- The atmosphere of the college is something that I should be mentioning at the very first. Kanhirangad being a hilly area, the college is situated in one such place from where the view is very beautiful. Also the ambience of the college is pretty good
- Teachers and staffs of the college is very friendly & communicable. They stand with students for each & every problems.Teachers are also highly qualified which makes their teaching quality topmost. The way they handle classes is somethng appreciable.
- College contains good computer labs, physics labs, chemistry labs. Also the machines and computers in the lab is repaired and fixed nicely. The quality of the computers in the lab is also top class. College also has a smart room well maintained.
Dislikes
- College doesn't provide any placement opportunities for the students. Especially students of arts background. Hence forth teachers and management is requested to provide placement as well as internship opportunities to all the students of the college
- The programmes conducted in the college is also not up to the mark. College has many clubs but doesn't conduct any programmes. In future teachers and team leaders should make sure to conduct various co curricular activities club wise.
- Books in the library is not up to date. Library should provide more new books than concentrating on the old books only. Also study materials should be provided for the students for exam and other references.journals and magazines should also be there
Course Curriculum Overview
English literature is something I have loved since school. The teachers handles the syllabus very well and make sure that they finish the syllabus on and before time. they also conduct various mock tests and model exams before the semester exams to make sure that the students are well-versed with the subject. Apart from the syllabus they also make sure we are currently up to date with the latest happenings. Teachers also give us classes on general knowledge and to test out knowledge they also conducts various programmes like quiz competition etc. one of the negatives that need to be mentioned is the timing of the exam. The syllabus is vast and side and students especially the literature students' find it difficult to complete the exam in time. Students are not able to manage time during exams due to vast syllabus.
Fees and Financial Aid
hence all the seats are management seats. Students studying in the college have to pay fees and get admission. But the fees is a considerable amount as compared to other colleges. During admission, the student has to pay a certain amount, and then in each semester, they have to pay the tuition fees. Tuition fees come to around 8k- 15k. Also, the students has to pay a separate exam fee during the registration of the semester exam in each semester. College doesn't provide many scholarships. Some of the available scholarships include e-grants and sc st scholarships. Students who have scholarships have a little ease in the amount of fees that need to be paid.
Campus Life
Overall experience in taliparamba arts and science college was amazing and wonderful for me. I have enjoyed each and every moment there. The campus was very beautiful, had good canteens, overall a comfortable pace. Even though college lacks in conducting so many cultural programmes like government colleges, but every year they make sure they conduct college day where students of every department will be getting chance to do whatever they are good at. College also conducts union day after college elections. College kalolsavam is also being conducted. Library is something that need to be mentioned about. The books in the library are highly valuable. Even though sometimes they fail to update the books with new collections. Students get enough study materials from the Library. Classrooms are well maintained with good infrastructure and furniture. Sports day was something that the college lacked during my college days. But now they are conducting enough sports and games activities.
Admission
the college is a non-government college coming under kannur University. Students can apply to the college through CAP registration. Eligibility for the course includes at least 50% marks in 12th std. During the allotment the students can check if they got admitted to their preferred college or not. If you got an allotment, then the students should present themselves in the college whenever they are asked to. The admission form will be available in the college office which needs to be filled then and there. As the seats are management seats, students should be paying a certain amount during the admission process. As admission is granted through CAP registration, there was no entrance exams.
Faculty
The faculties of the college are highly qualified. Most of the faculties hold doctorate degree. Which makes them to provide us students with high quality classes and lectures. The way they handle classes is mesmerizing. They take classes in a very friendly but also in a very decent manner. They make sure that each and every doubts of the students is cleared before the hour. Also they are very approachable. Teachers also give us classes based on other important things rather than just the syllabus. They give us knowledge on the currents happening. They conduct awareness classes. They also provide carrier guidance classes.
