What Students Say
Likes
- Green lush environment, which i think can no where be found in patna.
- Ganga ghat. Have worry or academic pressure or any kind of fatigue, then just a walk away is Mother Ganges to give you relief from this hectic life.
- Some professors are literally very humble and down to earth, you just have to find them.
Dislikes
- College campus is very short, it should have been a bit more land.
- Crowdy area on saturday and sunday because many people come to visit ghat.
- Very hectic academic regulations. No library access in night.
Course Curriculum Overview
First of all this is NIT so pursuing my bachelor's here is itself a proud thing for me. Second I'm pursuing my bachelor's in Computer Science and Engineering which I think is a top notch branch in any engineering college.
Placement Experience
I guess from 7th semester , students are eligible for their campus placements. Companies visited are PhonePe, Google, Oracle, IBM, etc. Big companies recruit very less students but they come. I guess all students get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
the college fee is 2 lakhs if you want support from the government, then you must be from SC/ST; otherwise, you have to pay all. For Bihar students there is a scheme called the Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme, which gives you a loan of up to 4 lakhs for your entire college duration.
Campus Life
In November there is a fest whose name I'm to recall right now. In January, there is Corona & Melange : annual fest of NIT Patna. As said earlier due to lesser campus area, fest aren't organized on larger scale. There are many technological and music clubs, but I didn't joined any of these because I think it's totally time waste.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities must be improved. 4 students are pushed in a room that is meant for only 2 peoples. In girls they keep 6 girls in a single room. Food of Kosi hostel is best among all hostel. Brahmaputra is 10th storey , I guess only seniors are alloted here.
Admission
As this is one of the respected NITs in India, it's admission procedure is same as other NITs or IITs. You first have to give Joint Entrance Examination Mains (JEE) , at my time it was conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). Reservations are there for every groups, from SC/ST to PwDs to Femals to EWS to OBC.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is I guess 1 : 78 Some faculty are very good to teach in India, but some are those pain in head that you have to just avoid them. Few are soo rude and ambiguous that you may think of leaving college sometimes. I often interact with 1 or 2 teachers which I found very supportive towards me.
