Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum does kind of get a little hectic sometimes but it's nothing that can't be managed by making a proper schedule. For example my course was of 18 credits in semester 1 while in 2nd semester it was 26 semesters. It became quite difficult for me and my friends to adjust ourselves but we ended up managing everything at the end. The study material provided by our college is good but too lengthy at the same time. Rather than giving us ppt of 200+pgs to study from one day before the exam they should give us short notes so that it easier for us to learn from. We have 3 cts for every subject that gets added to our internals of 60 marks by the end of each semester and 40 marks are for our end sem examinations. The exams are really easy while the CT qps are kind of tough.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee Is I guess pretty decent for my course atleast as it is a mix of electronics and computers. There are many scholarships that are provided by our college depending on their scores of the entrance examination(SRMJEE).
Campus Life
One of the best qualities of srm is it's amazing campus infrastructure. We have different blocks for different departments. They have their own hospital called the SRM Global hospital which provides great facilities and treatments to their patients. They have separate blocks for medical, dental, management, architecture, mechanical, eee, etc blocks. They have separate hostels for the athletes. We have multiple grounds and badminton courts and anything an athlete can ask for. They have many clubs where students can volunteer or be a participant in the events and workshops conducted by them. Srm is a socially diverse place. There are students who come from almost every part of India and almost all of them are really friendly with each other.
Admission
The eligibility for my course was I guess was 75%. As for the admission process, I had filled an application form on our online website. I gave an entrance examination in the 1st phase.(In total there are 3 phases of examination and if you want to get admission in the main campus that is the kattankulathur campus it is preferred to give the exam in the 1st phase itself).I got a rank in 20k range.the range for cse admission was 1-19k. The admission process in all was pretty smooth I'd say
Faculty
Well I am really interactive in class (kind of like a teacher's pet as we call it these days). It did take time for me to speak up in class at first but as the time passed by I gained more and more confidence to speak up. The teachers are really good with clarifying our doubts as well. Their teaching methods are a little different if compared to schools but it's understandable as they have 50+ kids in one class. most of them have been In this line of work for 10+ years and are really good with what they do. In all my experience at srm has been really great and I am having the best time studying.
