Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is one of the most flexible ever. We don't have to come to college and wait till the clock strikes 5 and then go home. You get randomised classes. mostly 20 a week and the rest of the time you get your day off. You can hang out with your friends or have club sessions(mandatory every Wednesday) go on the ground and play or just go to the library for some peace or just chill here and there. The exams focus mostly on how much you understand the subject so yeah the questions can get tricky and creative. It follows relative grading so yeah even if one subject might have mugged you up it probably did for a lot of them and you are still safe. You just have to have good internals by doing the assignments they give and all.

Placement Experience

4

You get to choose between higher studies and placements in the third year. The highest package is around 44 lakhs and the least package I heard was 4.5 lakhs per annum and i heard that we have an average of 10 lakhs per annum. People get employed and we get various companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Normally tuition fees is the same to all 3,50,000 or something. Students who come under Eamcet have a few waivers and have to pay only 70k. There are good scholarship programs for international students and the maximum scholarship you can get is around 1lakh. I come under Eamcet so I have to pay a tuition fee of 70k and hostel fees of 1,20,000 so an overall 2 lakh per year for 4 years which is better compared to most colleges outside but for the srmjee students it can be quite costly but I think it's worth it considering the infrastructure and the amount of money they use during the fests and all

Campus Life

5

The campus life is one of the best. Good environment, with no clashes between juniors and seniors, no ragging, the best community with some active clubs and don't get me started on the fests. There's always a fest around the corner cuz all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Sports have all kinds of equipment and one of the best basketball teams and cricket teams and the coaches do work hard for it. There are 4 gyms with up-to-date equipment

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel rooms are good but the toilets are the best. The prices are a bit high and the food is a little bit bland without spice and all but yeah sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad.The menu items are good suitable for all regions and they keep non veg atleast 3 times a week and the schedule is same for all students.

Admission

I took the Eamcet exam and got a rank of 3047 and the cutoff was 4600 for the general category but I think the sc category goes up to 64k or something. The admission process was smooth and had no problem whatsoever. There are 3 srmjee slots and everyone comes under the same category irrespective of their rank in the SRMjee if they qualify except the first 20 students or 100 students.

Faculty

4.5

They follow a mentor mentee program where every teacher is assigned atmost 5 to 10 students under their guidance so as to track their overall performance and guide them. Very much approachable and if you are really interested you can take up research under the guidance of some teachers. Most of the teachers I got have PHDs and are from IITs and having a lot of reasearch papers and minimum 30 years of experience so yeah we can say the teachers are good.It depends on wether the student is attentive or not.
