Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

English Journalism has a vast scope, as the course offers different learning's like Writing, Preparing news bulletins, reading news, editorial, designing magazines and pages, radio production programs and many more. Before joining IIMC I was in my fairyland of journalism but the things basic to advanced taught here made me realise what's the competition outside is. No of faculties should be increased and course should be more advanced. Exams have a perfect timing but research paper is quite lengthy

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Network 18, inshorts and there were many new Entertainment houses, which offered internship with stipend. Interested students was given a task to pass the companies requirements and then the GD, PI was scheduled.

Placement Experience

3.5

Just before passing out the second trimester students are eligible for placement, it's only the results and marks which stops them. Every year amost every students get a good placement from placement cell. Many companies like Zee Media, PIB, PR agencies, The Times Of India, inshorts comes for placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were total two trimesters in which second trismester's fee was less than firsts. But additional hostle fee and mess fee was quite high but low from different college's. It was a total of approximately 3-4 lacs to stay there.

Campus Life

4

Even though festivals and functions taught the students. IIMC Denenkanal's students from 2019 batch started their own theatre, Society just buy performing on Hindi day. International Level photographer's were invited to the college and students and students were taken for an educational trip and those who won were awarded by the college. The competition was "pgotografia". No

Admission

The first and initial step was filling the form and then after the entrance exam, it was quite tough to pass the entrance exam. But anyhow I passed out with a good cut-off marks and then then the interviews were scheduled, and according to that the regional centres were offered to the students. It would have been good if students were given the choice to choose their centres but that's okay if they don't because we get to explore.

Faculty

5

College, faculties, staffs even Director share the same compound of college. There's a very friendly environment between students and teachers. Faculties here pay more attention towards practically learning things rather than just theoretically learning. Due to the same campus and mess students often meet to teachers and they also love to address us. Even on weekends teachers used to play outdoor games like cricket and badminton with us. Students are also taken to educational trips and asked to report accordingly.

Interview Experience

4.5

All the questions whether in interview or in group discussion was a national issue and election only but judges. Keep a check that whether the student is biased or not, there were the total three rounds of interview along with entrance exam. I kept my eyes on social media news and newspapers for my preparation.
