Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

So I am in the domain of artificial intelligence and data science, I chose this curriculum as it covers all round aspects of computer science as well as has advanced topics of ai that are beneficial in the coming future. The curriculum is well designed to prepare you for real-world applications but I would say you have to take extra efforts apart from the curriculum to succeed in this competitive world. The teaching methods adopted can be more application-based than the theoretical teaching methods. The college being autonomous has adopted it's own way of examinations. In one semester we have 2 term test exams (in-sem) and one end-semester exam at the end. The first term test is conducted after 30-40% of syllabus completion and the second term test is just before final submissions. The difficulty of the examination is average (medium) not that hard and not that easy.

Placement Experience

3.5

The campus placement are usually carried out in the 7th semester. There are a consistent companies visiting our campus like IDFC Bank, seclore, Accenture etc. The on campus highest placement is 14lpa by IDFC first Bank. Average placement is about 6 lpa. Almost all the eligible students from the tech branches are placed. Many students from your college aspire for master's so there is good GRE culture. We also have AIR-5 in gate examination from our college. Also many aspire for CAT exams. I am not yet sure about my plans after getting degree but most probably I would look for placement rather than master's

Fees and Financial Aid

Currently for my batch(23-27) the fees are 180k(approx). As per the senior the fee almost remains same throughout the four years with not much hikes. Me being from a reserved category (OBC) I get 50% tution fee exemption from the Government of Maharashtra which makes my fees to 104k. If you are from reserved category and admitted through CAP process you get a scholarship according to the category. Also there are EWS scholarship. As of now I don't know of the campus employment.

Campus Life

4.5

I can guarantee you our college has the coolest fest in Mumbai University may it be annual fest Surge or the techfest. The college library has all the kinds of books which would help you in your core subjects as well as prepare you for competitive exams like GATE,GRE etc The classroom are well equipped with the necessary provisions but I would like to have air conditioned classroom. The labs are air conditioned with latest generation PC. The clubs on campus are GDSC, Robocon, S4DS etc and committees on board are Student council, ISTE, CSI, IEEE etc. The clubs are very much active and represent college in various competitions. The sports culture in the college is the best. There are various inter departmental competition which are the best. The college has a football ground, a turf and a multipurpose ground. There are social groups like NSS on campus which are very impactful for students.

Admission

In order to secure admission to this institute you have to take the MHT-CET examination. Further, after that, you get admission through the centralized admission process (CAP) carried by cet cell. Getting a decent 95 percentile could be eligible for the course. The cet examination is of 3hrs for 200 marks. The difficulty of the examination is at par with jee mains. I got 96.69 so I guess it's easy. The first preference for admission is given to the Maharashtra state candidates and then to other candidates. The seat distribution is 80% through the CET exam and 20% through the JEE MMains exam. The admission process is very easy and not that complicated.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty member are decently qualified. The faculty to student ratio is very nice. There are more female faculty members than male faculty members. The faculty is more towards completing syllabus. Although all the doubt are solved by them if you have any. All the teachers are very approachable and not that arrogant.

After 7th semester, students are eligible for campus placements depending upon their capabilities, staff recomendation, CGPA, and various other factors. Not everyone is provided with placements because 80% of the students prefer studying for masters. Companies like TCS, cipla, abott, and many more pharma companies visit here with average package of 4 lakh per annnum.
