What Students Say
Likes
- Great Faculty. While not everyone is the best, there are definitely the teachers that are very good to students and also great with the subject. Many of them teach the way students .
- Excellent resources. There are two libraries, named College Library and the other one being University Library. Almost all the necessary books are available either in physical form or as in e books in the e library
- Location of campus is one of the best. Almost everything is accessible from here.
Dislikes
- Social life is great, but not upto the mark compared to premium tier 1 institutions like IITs/ NITs. Some times the rules are too bad we won’t be able to properly spend time around campus
- Some important labs do not have properly working apparatus. Its not about every lab or such, but there’s definitely problems in few
- Lack of faculty(professors) in some important core departments. While the existing faculty is great, there is lack in number of phd holding professors 👨🏫
Course Curriculum Overview
The main reason I chose electrical and electronics is my interest in it. I was to choose between this and ECE, but I eventually could inly get into this. And Im happy I'm in. The course is relevant to the modern advancement and there are somebnew subjects being inducted into course. But from what Ive heard, there is still scope for improvement in this area. There could be more inclusiveness for new developments in courses. The exams are as normal as anywhere else Two mid exams and one end semestre exam. The difficulty is very dynamic and its just not something we could say in a word. Sometimes easy, sometimes difficult and so on. But the correction part, that's very tough. For an average student who can score an easy 9 in most of the provate colleges around, its pretty tough to even score an 8 CGPA
Placement Experience
Campus placements are done starting from 4th year 1st semester and goes all way till the end of it. There is a placement department who oversees all the particulars regarding campus placements and also any kind of interships. The highest package recieved this year is of ?52 lakh per annum in the IT sector and something more than ?30 lakh ler annum in core sector. There is significant increase in number of core jobs that are provided to students this year compared to before, and also there was a luttle slump in the It jobs. Average package stands around ?8 lakh per annum. Not sure aboug percentage of students but for the best of my knowledge, about 70% students get placed in campus If not selected in campus, I'm looking forward to apply for Mtech as im preparing for GATE exam which could also give many opportunities in PSUs which are not given in campus usually
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee when I have joined the course in 2021 is ?35000. Its pretty low compared to most of the colleges I know. But wash year in the past two years, there is significant increase in fees. It is right now something like 60000? for the 2023 batch. But there are various benifits as well. For TS students who get a rank under 10K in the state EAPCET and are under BPL or financially struggling , the fees will be limited to as low as free to paying only a bit. Also there are many scholarships provided by state govt . The NSP scholarship is the most famous one which gives atleast 10000? for students and more for even worse conditions The placement office is responsible for providing jobs and there are various internships provided
Campus Life
There is an annual tech fest each year conducted in the campus done seperately by each department. The energy suring those events are great. There will be workshops, seminars, presentations, debates, built models, games and many other activities through out the time of the fest. The library is one of the best part in the campus. The college library has all the books that are necessary for us in the academic point of view, and the university library has even more, including various journals of all the related departments, and also there is an e library where there is even more access to many materials. There are many clubs, for singing, dance, photography, coding, GDSE, films, gardening, and also some NGO type of clubs who go around to some schools to conduct awareness programs. And there are also many sport facilities open to ise and in fact there are many national level players from here
Admission
The eligibility of course is one has to complete 12th(CBSE) or 2nd year intermediate(state boards) in order to be eligible to take any courses. The exam required to get into this college is TS EAPCET, which is conducted by our college (JNTUH) itself every year at around May. The application for this exam can be found in official TS EAPCET site, and it usually is open every year from February to April. The application fees for the exam is ?900 and even lesser for students who belong to SC/ST communities. The exam is conducted only once in an year on online basis conducted over few days with two available sessions each day. The difficulty is average, and easier compared to JEE. The improvement I'd suggest in admissions is its better if we could submit certoficated online, which took many days when I joined the college
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is high in some departments like CSE or ECE but is a bot low in important core branches like EEE or civil engineering. Some faculty are great in both teaching and the way the lyninteract with students, making the students feel welcome to discuss academic issues and doubts. Meanwhile, there is always a set of faculty, mainly assistant professors and sometimes even the professors are a bit rude to the students and never gets satisfied with the hard work. They are always blaming everything and not so great to the college environment
Other Applied Colleges
Osmania University - [OU] | Bachelor of Engineering [BE] (Electrical Engineering)
Many said JNTUH is better
