NIT - Trichy overall experience

The subject curriculum is upto to the current pace of modern times , there are many courses which you can opt according to your interests as electives from 4 th semester. There are even minors which allows you to complete a Minor from other departments.

Almost all top companies visit our college for placements. For IT - Amazon, Microsoft, some startups etc . For eee core - Texas instruments, Qualcomm, Bajaj etc You will have projects in your hand from the courses apart from that you can do research intern in iits or under a proff

The placement is great in college . But now it's dull and slow due to recession. Hopefully it will get better . For placements we get trained every strictly with many rules to be followed by us or will face some consequences. The seniors are your placement coordinators , they guide you .

Fee structure is same for gen and obc they have pay full fee including mess and hostel fee, rest don't have tution fee they have to pay only mess of and hostel fee . For a sem mess and hostel fee is 40000 and tution fee will abe around 70k -80k. The college provide fee remission for students below certain family income and there also private organisation who come here to provide scholarships . There are no campus employment opportunities

The overall experience is good. The education part is competitive but it's manageable if you have interest. There are many clubs around 50 active clubs giving exposure and POR to students. There are many platforms and environment for you to open up and become socially active. There is problem with infrastructure, there is problem with wifi , hostel cleanliness and no washing machines

Hostel facility is below average, there is no tiles it's just a cement floor . The toilets are mostly Indian . The overall cleanliness is below average. There is no washing machines, common rooms , TVs , ACs . The mess are great , there 6 messes of different cuisine like Tamil , Andhra, Kerala, Hindi . You can choose it for each month on student login portal . Menu is balanced diet with fruits, curry , bread , papad, sambhar , egg , milk etc .

The admission process was pretty easy and simple , thanks to josaa councelling of NTA for making the process simpler . You just have to sign in with your nta account credentials and have to fill the college with branches according to your preferences . There is like 5-6 rounds in josaa councelling, each time can upgrade to your next preference . I got 98.3 perc , I got gen mech in nitt but in CSAB which is a special councelling round in which I got eee in nitt
