Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course has a varied array of subjects and topics covered. The courses though vary a little compared to the NLUs. The duration between exams are rather short and a lot has to be covered. It causes problems for both the teachers and students. The teachers somehow complete the syllabus and it is the students who have to suffer.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

The college does not provide any internship opportunities. The students have to find internships on their own. The college only provides a recommendation certificate. A student can start interning from the first semester itself.

Placement Experience

2

Campus placements are provided in the ninth semester. The average package was around 20000 monthly. There were not too many placements. There were around 5-6 companies for placement. I personally haven't decided yet whether I would go for litigation or corporate sector.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees is approximately 150000 for one year or two semesters. The hostel fees is 45000 for Non AC rooms and 40000 is the mess charges. The college does not provide any scholarships or financial aid.

Campus Life

2

There are not too many social clubs in the college. The only clubs that exist are the moot court society, the debate club and the cultural club. There aren't many programs too. The college does not have any literature club or sports club. There are no facilities for any sports in the campus.

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel facilities provided are mid. The rooms aren't that big and are somewhat confined. The food quality in the mess is not good and the quantity too is very less. The food provided is not appropriate for any grown individual and students often have to buy food from outside to fulfill their needs.

Admission

The admission process was rather simple. Admission was taken on the basis of CLAT score or the score secured in SAAT, the entrance exam conducted by the university. The SAAT was rather simple and had very simple and basic level questions. There were probably three rounds of admission. One thing which I did not like was that the admission took a lot of time and there was no information to keep us up to date.

Faculty

3

The faculties, tho good, do not take much of an interest. Some teachers do take an interest in the betterment of the students and in guiding and mentoring them. There are teachers who aren't very interested in the same. Some teachers are very strict when it comes to the attendance and do not provide any leniency to the same.

Placement Experience:

Students of NLUO primarily get placed in Law firms, Corporate Organisations and Policymaking Orgainsations. Placements depend on the conditions of market economy. But every year, several Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 law firms recruit minimum 40 students at NLUO. If the market conditions are right the same can go up to 80. Further students also get placed from internships in addition to those in campus placements. Other students go for judicairy preparation, litigation and other competitive exams

From 8th semester students become eligible for placement. Quickflex and some other companies visited our university and around 15-20 offers are made. The highest placement is 500000rs per year and the average package is around 350000 per year. 20-25% students get placed. My 1st plan is to get placed somewhere and then start my preparation for judiciary.
