Dharnesh Chandran's Review On Kongu Engineering College - [KEC], Erode

No bad remarks but placement can still be improved.

I chose this college through TN counseling. I secured 195.5 cut off in my HSC examinations. I had seats in all departments of this college. Since, I am very interested in Mechanical field, I chose it.

Course curriculum is up to the mark. We have different subjects for each field and we have faculties experienced in their own domain. So, we can have a clear cut idea in the subjects we learn. Few of the electives i had in my stream was Industrial Hydraulic and Pneumatics, Mechatronics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Renewable sources of energy, Safety engineering.

Internship is our own interest and the companies which college gives will be of medium scale industries. It is good you can opt for any internship in large scale industries. I attended internship of 4 months in TNPL.

During my year, we got CTS, WIPRO, INFOSYS, TECH MAHINDRA, TITAN, ZOHO, few core companies. Placement details: CTS -158WIPRO -110INFOSYS -104TITAN-1ZOHO-2From 2015, Accenture was added for placement and they recruited around 350 students.

Few of the college events celebrated are MXCEL which is the departmental function of MECHANICAL.It is a national level technical symposium and students from all over INDIA will participate in our symposium. We have Paper presentation, Project Presentation, Drag race, Robotics, Water rocketry, Treasure hunt, etc. The same kind of technical symposiums will be conducted by each department in a year.

Fee structure is feasible. For an year, educational fees is around Rs. 60000 and hostel fees with mess is around Rs. 40000. In hostel we have 24 hours generator facility and we have water treatment plants. We have never faced wated problem in 4 years of my stay there.

College offers scholarship of Rs.20000 for the top 5 students in each department every year. I have received it twice during my college years.

Male to Female ratio will be 3:2 .Wd have cultural, hosteld ay, department function, workshops, annual day, more and more departmental functions every year. If a person is talented apart from academics in any manner, he has a great platform to expose it. We also have India's largest auditorium (KONGU CONVENTION CENTER) in the college.

Hostel rooms will be neat and the atmosphere around hostel will be excellent. You have trees around and it will be chill all time. Mess food is good. Even if you feel any problems in mess food, you have all rights and you are welcome to make a complaint.

Seniors are the one who guided in our career the most. They are very helpful and guide the juniors in a superb manner. It is good to keep your senior in touch, it may help in any of the future cases.

Exam structure is semester wise. It will nice to do practicals. We have exams for theory and practical each semester. Totally, we have 8 semester.
