UNBOXING OF DIBRUGARH POLYTECHNIC

The college provides three engineering courses civil electrical and mechanical . I opted for civil engg as I am intrested in construction activities . The practicals we do in our colleges such as surveying and estimating are required in various field projects . But also there is also need of improvements in some parts like the courses are huge and the time is limited to go through the subjects each semester lasts for 3-4 months where we get 6 subjects covering huge syllabus . The teaching methods are overall good but smart classrooms are rarely usable because of electricity blackout in the college the genrator also does not works . The exam or test are conducted with each syllabus complete and with good frequency the exams are not very hard or easy it is average and Good to score CGPA teachers also give frequent assignments and homework

Intership and Industrial training opportunities also provided to the students under the companies such as NF RAILWAYS PWD and ONGC where a teaching faculty teaches us about the work and construction activities. After completing the training we are provided with a certifate which can used in the future for getting jobs

After completing the 6th semester students are eligible for campus placements . Companies such as ONGC NF Railways and Indian oil came in our college giving placements to students by selecting the students whose overall score is average in maths and science. the average package for campus placements are around for 30 to 40K as a junior engineer. The highest placement went upto 80K provided by the ONGC . 60 percent of students are selected in placements . Overall the placement are average . After getting the degree I will be sonsidering doing Btech as a senior engineer

The tuition fees is not very high each semester is around 4000 ruppes which makes it easy to afford for every student's .the overall cost of the eduactions cost me around 40 -50 k including overall aspects which makes it easy to afford. The students are also provided with scholarships by ongc and Indian oil company .

Freshers and farewells are held in the college auditorium and many special guest are invited the students also perform in the functions creating a fun atmosphere. We are also provided with library where we can rent and books and return to them after work is over . The classrooms are good enough but desk and bench are pretty old . Smart classrooms are also present in the new building of the college. Extracurricular activites are also held such as sports week painting competition etc . Elections are also held inside the campus where we can candidate the perfect student for taking the respon6of the college

The eligibility criteria for this course is 10 th pass including maths and science and age criteria upto 21 years . The application form is provided in college website the fees of the application form is around 100 rupees. A Entrance test is conducted known as polytechnic addmission test where we have to score minimum 60% to get admission in a reputed college there are also reserved seats for SC, ST ,OBC,MOBC and other lower classes .The exam is conducted once in every year around 10 AM . The exam timing is 2 hrs where we have to choose the correct MCQS the exam is not very difficult as it includes class 10 maths and science syllabus and easy to score good marks. Admission process is average as there are many crowds in the official websites

The teaching faculty is great the teachers provide good guidance to the students and also if we have a doubt they will try to do a extra class to solve our doubts overall the faculty to student ratio is great. The practicals guided by the teachers are also easily understable . most of the teachers are kind and friendly but there are some teachers who are rude but they also help when we need them
