Research oriented University with knowledgeable Professors

I choosed ECE course because it has bright future and various industry specializations are provided in SRM University. Some Professors don't explain concepts well and they read whatever it is in PPT asitis without explaining clearly. This type of teaching has to be changed. Labs play crucial role in understanding some professors don't care about the lab sessions at all. They give full responsibility to lab assistants who are not well knowledge. Specialization in different streams such as VLSI , Signal Processing and Embedded systems prepares students for real-world applications that are used in core industry of electronics. Each academic year has two semesters which are 5 months long. Each sem has 2 mid exam.For each mid there is one quiz and two assignments.

For B tech srudents college will provide university mandated internship in 5 th and 6semester where we don't get paid. In 7 th semester if we are lucky enough then we can get internships. ECE M tech students got internship with Qualcomm with a package of 45000 for 11 months. Which is post internship converted to 15 LPA. Roles include Design engineer, embedded intern, software engineer, etc. Serbsure projects are also provided to students who are having exceptional research papers.

After 6 th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Roughly 800 companies will visit the campus each year. Each student will get atleast one MNC (TCS ,Cognizant ,Capgemini, L and T)placement and if we are talented enough then we will get dream and super dream offers too. ECE core Companies like Bosch, Tata power, AMD, Cadence will also visit campus for placements. Highest package is around 30 LPA which is internship leads to placement category and mostly 80 percent of the highest packages ends up only with intership without converting to full time offer. Average package is 7 LPA 95 percent of the students will definitely get placements. Who maintains good GPA with skill will get higher packages .

Fixed Tuition fees for entire course duration if any student is admitted without scholarship. If any student joined with scholarship and if they didn't maintain 8.5 GPA in each sem, then scholarship will be revoked. They have to pay entire fees for that Sem. For Btech roughly 15 lakhs for students opting for ECE. 11 Lakhs for other branches. Students shouldwrite SRMJEE entrance examination for scholarship. Mainly scholarship is awarded to CBSE srudents only. If state syllabus students wants to admit in SRM with scholarship then it is better to prepare well and write EAPCET for scholarship. Fees will be 70000 Rs for EAPCET admit students. No stipend is awarded for B tech students. For M tech students 6000 Rs is provided as stipend per month. For Phd scholars 37000 is provided as sripend.

Tech fests are conducted 2-3 times in a year. Science fests , Coding hackathons are conducted. Sports and extracurricular activities like Cricket,Volley ball and Foot ball tournaments are conducted in University and other college students also come to University to play in tournaments. Library contains all the reference books thag are prescribed by Professsors. Lack of Space to accommodate huge number of students. If we require any book soft copy then librarian will email is the same. Each classroom is equipped with Central AC, Fans for air circulation and delivery.Big TV and big white board is provided in class. Many clubs like Cinema Club, Drama club, Dancing club, E game club, Enterprenurship club,etc are present in university and they are run by the students.

Minimum 65 percent in 12 th and 10 th standard. Just type SRMJEE in online and we can find all details and dates for the exam. 1200 Rs will be the application fees. Currently there are 2 phases of exam . SRMJEE is online exam now students opting to write this exam can take the test from home itself. Seat allotment is based on performance in SRMJEE entrance examination. Merit will be offered seats first.

When I studied there is 1:14 faculty-to-student ratio.We are provided with dedicated mentors for support and resolution of academic problems. Each and every faculty is equipped with Phd degree from reputed Institutes. Academic sessions by professors are good and understandable. I interact with teachers regularly and they are easily approachable via gmail or whatsapp.
