Review of National Institute of Technology Patna

Curriculum of civil engineering is well designed and also faculty is well educated. Most of them completed thier graduation from IITs. Ofcourse some of the faculties are very rude and they do not give any attention to students, they just wanted you to fail in examination, and you will get these types of professors in every college. So you don't have to worry about them. In every semester we have to give two examinations, first the mid semester and second the end semester.

As I am in 1st year I didn't have much idea about internship opportunities. But as I have heard internship opportunities is not so good. If you are lucky you can get internship from college, otherwise you have to apply off campus.

In end of 6th or beginning of 7th semester students can sit in college placements. College placement for civil engineering department is less or more same as other NITs. In 2023 highest package was 19lpa and averages package is around 8.5lpa. In civil department percentage of students placed was around 80%.

In present tuition fees is 62000 per semester. If you want to reside in hostel you have to give other 40000 per semester. Other than these in first semester you have to give some additional charges and one time fees. All total if you are from general category you have to give around 800000 for four years. There are many scholarship for SC/ST category students and also for students whose income is lessa than 1 lakh. Some of my friends have already applied for scholarships.

If you talk about size of Current campus, it is about 35 acres, which is obviously quite small in comparison to other NITs but also there is good news that new campus of NIT Patna is being constructed in bihta, bihar whose campus area is far bigger than current one. Corona and milange is our technical and cultural fest held annualy in end January for 4-5 days. Facilities provided for students in fest is not so good, most likely due to campus size. Eccentrica is also one of the events in college. In sports field we got, annual sports competition "Intramurals" in which all departments compete with each other. Library of NIT Patna is very well equipped with all kinds of books you needed. If we talk about facilities in classrooms then I think some of you will be disappointed as they are not according to the fees that college charge from us. All classrooms doesn't have AC. Infact some of them didn't even have projectors. Club culture is very good in college. You will get many opportunities

In first year you will not get good facilities. But from second year you will get a double, single room as per your choice. In a room you get a seperate almirah, a chair and table and drawer to keep you things. Mess food is below average but you will get used to it after some time. Registration process for hostel is not very difficult but yeah you have to run for that if you didn't have much knowledge about it. There are also many rented rooms and PG near college.

I am pursuing B.tech civil engineering from National institute of technology Patna. I gave joint entrance exam that held every year, which you should qualify to apply for NITs and IITs and other prestigious engineering College of India. NIT Patna Cutoff for general category in 2023 was around 60000 to get admission in civil engineering department. Also civil engineering department of NIT Patna got 2nd rank after IIT Roorkee in India.
