Course Description
The application form for all the courses offered by the college is available in the offline mode. To fill the form, applicants need to follow a sequence of steps which is listed as follows:
- The candidate who had qualified the Entrance Exam in the required program can apply for admission.
- Admission will be purely based on a cut off score.
- Candidates can apply for counseling.
- They have to select NIT Patna for seat allocation.
- Selected candidates have to lock the college and can visit the college for admission with the required documents.

I am from civil engineering department so our course is fully practical thats Professor teach us we also do practical. Our curriculum is well and according to increase the knowledge of course. Our semester exam is medium and exam question is from class notes and the overall difficulty level is medium .

Actualy at the time of admission there is recession in software industry so other than cse im interested in civil so i have choosen it beacause i will give practical and field knowledge and also useful for government jobs if we study hard no exam is difficult exam difficulty is based on our preparation

- Nit Patna fosters dynamic and inclusive student community. A mix of technical and non technical clubs, cultural events and festivals creates a well rounded campus life.

- Accommodation is bad. In one room they are adjusting 10 to 12 girls by keeping double decker beds. All beds are too close not having enough space .One cupboard for two people. Wardens are very bad.
- Mess Food is bad. They serve stale food and mix morning vegetables in evening meal. Oily food only potatoes. They are bad at south indian dishes

The course curriculum are still the old ones.They need some updates.Though some of our professors are really good as some of them come in top 2% across the world.The attendence criteria was not strict which was quite good as some of us were preparing for government jobs and Gate. Which is better for civil engineering, IIEST Shibpur or NIT Patna?
Without a doubt, IIEST Shibpur is the definite better choice among the two institutes for Civil Engineering and is indeed one of the best Civil Engineering departments in the country. My friends who study at IIEST Shibpur boast about their college, that it is great in so many ways.
The points below state some reasons as to why -
- The Civil Engineering department of IIEST Shibpur is the best department among all engineering institutes in India.
- IIEST is a national government-controlled institute, and its curriculum and structure are mostly managed by the central board.
- In IIEST, candidates can switch departments at the end of the first year through the stream change process. For this shift, they need a good GPA score in exams.
- Civil Engineers of IIEST Shibpur have excelled in their field everywhere, and have excellent worldwide recognition.

Which is better: Civil NIT Trichy or CSE NIT Patna?
NIT Trichy is one of the top 10 institutions in India for Engineering, NIT Patna makes it to the 56th position in the NIRF Rankings 2023 for Engineering.
Despite this, I would suggest you go for CSE from NIT Patna. Out of my experience of meeting different people, I would suggest you choose a better course over a better institution. CSE is in demand these days, while Civil might not be a good choice placement-wise.
A friend of mine pursued his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a top NIT. He did not land a decent job. After that, he cracked GATE and went for his M.Tech in Civil Engineering from DTU. Even after his M.Tech, he landed a package of INR 5.5 LPA.
Civil Engineers from IIT Guwahati in my friend circle started preparing for UPSC because of not getting a job.
I believe that a course tag is permanent unless you switch your stream during your Masters. Therefore, I would suggest you take CSE from NIT Patna instead of Civil from NIT Trichy.
