Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I was unaware about the curriculum.so nothing from the curriculum influenced me to choose the course. We got exposed towards various aspects like cadaveric dissection, suturing techniques, cpr, various examination for the diagnosis of disease and got exposed to patients and college have conducted various camps, seminars, workshops and paper presentation for the improvement of skills and knowledge. The curriculum should have improved by posting the ppt online regularly after each class and should include more practical classes with models and real life cases so that one will get good exposure to the patients and see various cases and treatment styles.final exams are conducted yearly exept the last year which is conducted after 1 and half year.Additional to this there will be internal assessments which are conducted with a gap of 6 months. There will be others small class tests which will be conducted by the respective faculties of each domain. There will be moderate to high difficulty rate.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There is compulsory intership programme in the hospital without any stipend. There are government and private outpostings for 1 month each. And emergency department posting in yenapoya medical College and hospital.During intership we have to work under different medical departments and variety of diseases

Fees and Financial Aid

There will be a tution fee of 2.5 lakh per year which will increase with for ever new batch Total cost is 16 lakhs including hostel fee and there will be other charges for books and colleges necessities. There are scholarships for minority students also students with distinction. There was an internship programme of 1 year with no stipend.

Campus Life

2.5

There will be a cultural fest annualy which is usually held in april and there will be a sports meet prior to that. There are enough study material available in the college and university library. The College provides smart class rooms.now classrooms have a ac.Usually there will an annual sports meet of 3 days and cultural fest of 3 days. There are insta pages run by students of every batch.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel is inside the main campus were we are provided with 6 bedded dormitory with 2 fans and one table, shoe rack,6 cupboards and a chair. With additional charges rooms with 4 beds and ac are available. In a week 6 days we have non veg and the other day veg.Food quality is average.Registration process to hostel is along with the college registration and the hostel fees are high.Because of high cost i moved out of hostel with friends and took an appartment near the university.

Admission

Firstly one have to qualify 50% in physics, biology and chemistry in +2. Later one should qualify NEET.Then through any agencies or directly one can reach out to the College and take the admission through filling the required forms and submitting the required documents. Here the final exams are conducted yearly till 3 rd year with the whole syllabus which they cover yearly. And in the final year the exam will be conducted after 1 and half year. There will be internal assessments with throughout ever year with gap of 6 months. There will be easy moderately difficult and difficult questions in the questionnaire. While i joined the admission process took too much time as the course was new to the college. It would have been much better if the process was done online.

After 3 rd year students become eligible for intership . The percentage of getting intership is 70 percent. Highest package is of 12 to 15 lakh per year and lowest is 6 lakh . My plans after getting the degree is to open up the clinic in my hometown and do the service in government hospital.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The approch of ayurveda to patient is subjective as it focuses on each body type rather than general approach for disease. The curriculum for us is RS7 which is designed in such a way that not only theritical aspects will be clear but also we learn about practical approach to the patient as well. As if now the revised syllabus is very much improved it's difficult to suggest any changes now . The exams are very well planned
