Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Actually i was unaware of the curriculum at that time so its actually nothing related to the curriculum that influenced me. We got exposure towards certain aspects such as cadaveric dissection, various types of suturing, CPR techniques, various examinations to rule out the disease, seminars workshops and through camps we got many patient exposure. We were also given oppertunities for paper presentation so aa to improve our skills and knowledge. Certain improvements could have been done such as the topics which are taught in the class should have been uploaded upto date and practical classes with models and real life cases should have been improved. Through out every year there will be internal assessment every 6 months and one final exam at the end of every year and final yr was 1.5yrs so exam was conducted at the end of 1.5yrs. There will be class tests conducted by respective faculties. The exams are usually moderately difficult.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

There is only compulsory internship program without any stipend in the hospital. We have both government and private outposting for 1 month each and emergency dept posting in the yenepoya medical college and hospital. During internship we get exposure to each medical departments and variety of diseases.

Fees and Financial Aid

There will be a tution fee of 2,50,000 per year which will increase for every new batch. Total cost was 16L including hostel fees. Other additional charges for books and other college necessities. Transport fees included under hostel fee. There are scholarships for OBC and other minor categories also for students with distinction. We have internship program with no stipend allowance.

Campus Life

3

As an annual event we have cultural fest which is usually held in the month of april. Sports meet held prior to that. There are enough study materials available in the college and university library. College provides smart classrooms and now all the classrooms have AC. There will be annual sports meet with culturals conducted for 3 days. There are insta pages run by students of every batch.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel is inside the main campus which is 20min distant from the college. We were provided with 6 bedded dormitory with 2 fans, 1table and chair, 1 shoe rack, 6 cupboards each with additional charges rooms eith 4 bed and AC are available. In a week 6 days we have non veg and the other day veg. The food quality is average. The registration for college and hostel is done together. The hostel fee is high. Because of high cost i moved out of hostel with friends to a rented apartment near to the university

Admission

Firstly you will have to qualify you higher secondary education with 50% of score in physics chemistry and biology. After that you have to apply for NEET and have to qualify that. Later either through an agency or directly one can take admission to this college by filling put the required forms with essential docs. In this college exams are conducted yearly with the whole syllabus taught in that year and in the final year (1.5yr) exams conducted after 1.5yr. There will be internal assessments throught out every year with a gap of 6 months. The exam paper contains easy, moderately difficult and difficult set of questions. The admission process while i joined took time as the course was new and the whole process was done in person rather than through online.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The approch of ayurveda to patient is subjective as it focuses on each body type rather than general approach for disease. The curriculum for us is RS7 which is designed in such a way that not only theritical aspects will be clear but also we learn about practical approach to the patient as well. As if now the revised syllabus is very much improved it's difficult to suggest any changes now . The exams are very well planned
