Amazing College days

It is a Professional degree course of 4 years, with 8 semesters, you have to do theory as well as practicals. It depends on the credits of a particular subject. Eg. If there is a course of Agronomy having 1+1/2+1/0+2 credits, it means one has to do one theory and one practical or two theory and one practical or only two practical classes in a week. There is a lot of scope for research.

We have to complete the 7th semester along with farmers in villages. It is known as RAWE program i.e Rural Agricultural Work Experience program in which a group of students (6-7) stay in a village and share their knowledge about recent techniques of farming with farmers of a village. They carry out various types of experiments at field level to use these techniques in reality. For this semester students get a stipend of 1000 per month.

No placements for the campus at our time but nowadays various banks and companies came to college for campus selection eg. IDBI, Union Bank, BOI, BOM, Reliance, etc.

In every odd semester, there is Sports week which includes various types of games and sports at an intercollegiate level whereas in even semester various days celebrated at intra collegiate level. So much fun during each semester.

As it's a government college, fees are nominal. At my time that was 4500/- per semester. Nowadays fees are increased. It may be 7000-8000 per semester. It is affordable for everyone.

College provides various scholarships to various students also earn and learn scheme is also there.

One of the most unforgettable moments of our lives is hostel life days. Two students were in a single room. The condition of the room was pleasant. At my time there were no PG students but after passing our batch PG courses started in college. New infrastructure facilities are available for PG members. At my time we were used to going to nearby villages for the mess, we named it a Club system. In a single club averagely 10 members included and monthly expenses are only 600-800. For hostel we have to pay 3000 per semester.

The alumni network is strong of my college as it includes membership from 1985 to up till now. Our senior members formed an Alumni association that works for farmers and college.

Faculties are of the rank of Assistant Professor and above. Most of them have Doctorate degrees. Many of them are interactive with students and ready to help them. None of them (Professors) hesitated to help us (Students) at any time.
