Enjoying and Learning experience in ZHCET

The course I am in is well structured for a student to be developed overall in computer engineering. The course I think is balanced with the equal focus on theoretical aspects and practical learning. There is 2 lab period of 3 hours each. The Department has been awarded 05 Full-time and 03 Part-time Ph.D. fellowships under Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme of DEITY, Government of India.

I don't think that the college provided an internship. I haven't yet seen any of my senior doing internships here. Most of the students do online work from home internships like GSoC.

The placement here is not good. Very fewer students get selected and the companies do not offer good packages. Only 10 out of 60 students get placed by the campus. Some companies are Infosys, Myntra, Qualcom etc. Only these many I know. Average package is 7.8 Lac per anum.

The university organizes many cultural and technical events here. The most notable about events organized here are Sir Syed Celebration and Alumni meet. Also, here is various clubs running like AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) club, ROBO club (for robotics and all), SAE-ZHCET (for formula 1 racing cars - that is club has been a part of several international events). The contribution for the clubs is totally held by authorities.

The fee is considered very low as compared to other engineering institutions this university is fully government funded. When I took admission in 2016, I had to pay Rs 13325 as the annual tuition fees. Te dining hall was priced at Rs 1000 monthly. Now for continuation for this year I had to pay Rs 7360 for the full year and the dining fees are increased to Rs 1100 monthly.

There are various scholarship programmes running here for the talented as well as for the needy. I availed UP scholarship. I was not able to get toppers scholarship as I was not able to be the topper of my class. Yes, the college provides loan to the needy student but since I hadn't availed any I don't know much about it as I had only heard.

I reside in Nadeem Tarin Hostel. The rooms are 3-seater and I was not allotted a room during the first year. The students and staff here are very cooperative. No the rooms here are not PG's, the fee is Rs 1100 monthly only for the mess charges. The food is good but only on Wednesday during lunchtime that I had to eat outside as only Pulao is served. Overall, I love the food here and eat a lot.

The alumni visit the campus often and encourage students. Yes, the alumni contribute to the college infrastructure.

The teachers here are very qualified and experienced in this department. With some teachers having even work experience in Microsoft (Redmond, USA). The teachers here are deeply devoted towards students and practical learning and are about to increase the practical time from next year. They are very interactive and answer the questions of students fully even when they are out of the class like Warsi Sir and Saiful Sir. They both are practical and very logical and focus on the basics of the subject first before proceeding to the advanced topics.
