What Students Say?
Likes
- Social clubs, provide you exposure, help you meet different people from your interest field.
- Gymnasium and sports facilities, you get to play everything you wish. You can focus on your health with ease, just need dedication.
Dislikes
- Technical clubs, the recruitment is test based process thus one who have prior knowledge gets admitted not the one who have interest. They need to learn on their own and then apply next year.
- Music section, they also don't teach but recruit to those who know to play.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum are the best when it comes to courses in IIT. Most of the time you may not get courses of your choice in your choice of IIT, which is due to your rank, a deciding factor in seat allocation. Although I am quite impressed with the curriculum of any course. There is always opportunity for both core and non core jobs.
Placement Experience
Campus placements from IITs are the best. Some of the students get international packages in crores. 20LPA can be considered average. There are more than 1000 placement offers offered to the students. Student's in 4year BTech program sit for placements at the end of the 7th semester. Talking of highest package, 4.2Cr was offered by Quantbox to quant analyst. Other companies like De Shaw offer around 60Lpa. My plan is to get placed in one of the high paying company as a ML engineer. I am expecting somewhere between 50 to 60Lpa. At least 90percent students are placed on campus rest apply for off campus placements in search of more high package and few opt for UPSC.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees in IITs are around 2.8Lakhs per year for candidates whose family annual income is more than 5 Lakhs. If your family income is between 1 to 5 Lakhs then you get 2-3rd off on your tution fee which is aroud 2 Lakhs annual or 1Lakh per semester. Also if family annual income is less than 1Lakhs then you get complete tution fee waiver. Also SC ST students get complete tution fee waiver. On some cases you get waiver on mess fees too.
