Overall, BIMTECH's curriculum effectively balances theory and practicality, but could benefit from ongoing refinement to meet evolving industry needs.
Internships Opportunities
Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) offers internships with companies like Deloitte, KPMG, HDFC Bank, Amazon, and TCS. Internship roles vary from consulting to finance, marketing, and operations. Stipends are provided based on the role and duration. Projects include market research, financial analysis, and software development, contributing valuable insights and recommendations to the host organizations.
Placement Experience
Students at Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) become eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, HDFC Bank, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, and ICICI Bank visit the campus, offering various profiles. The highest package offered can range from ?20-25 lakhs per annum, with an average package of ?8-10 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students securing placements is typically high, and my plans after completing the degree would depend on job opportunities available, career interests, and personal goals.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fees vary based on the type of PGDM course opted for, ranging from 11-13 lacs. There is also the hostel fee to be considered which ranges from 2 to 2.5 lacs. Multiple Scholarships are available for students. Some are based on the students performance during the curriculum and some are based on the research report conducted by the student. There is also one for excellent performance in CAT and XAT.
Campus Life
My experience with campus life at Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) was vibrant and fulfilling. The annual festivals "Synergy" (February) and "Techofes" (October) added excitement to campus life. The library offers a diverse range of resources, while classrooms are equipped with modern facilities. Various sports clubs and extracurricular activities cater to diverse interests. Student-run clubs like the marketing and finance clubs fostered community and skill development. Overall, BIMTECH provides a rich and engaging campus life experience.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is provided by the college which is compulsory for every student. Girls hostel is within the campus premises while boys hostel lies within a distance of 2.5 km from the campus. Bus facility is provided for boys hostel for easy travelling between the hostel and College premises. The Mess has strict timings and the quality of food is better than most other hostels. The hostel has all possible amenities available like, Air conditioner, T.V's, Refrigerators, Room heaters, Lift and 24x7 available water and electricity. Canteen is also available on both college and hostel premises with round the clock service available. Resident doctor and medical services are also available in both places.
Admission
Eligibility of the Course: BIMTECH offers various PGDM, and an executive program. The eligibility criteria require candidates to hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum percentage or CGPA. Additionally, candidates need to secure qualifying scores in entrance exams such as CAT, XAT or CMAT to be considered for admission. Application Process: Prospective students can access the application form on BIMTECH's official website. The application fees vary based on the program applied for and the category of the applicant. Application dates span from November to February for most management programs, allowing candidates sufficient time to complete the application process and submit required documents. The Process consists of Application shortlisting, GD/PI and Offer letter. Reservation Benefits: If one belongs to OBC,ST,SC or EWS category, he/she gets some concession in fees, but no reservation benefits. Frequency and level of exam: It follows a trimester based model
Interview Experience
While I specifically did not faced any GD rounds, some students who were living locally had to face GD rounds. There was only one GD round which was followed by a PI round. The topics for GD were generally based on general awareness, Current affairs and the Social and Political climate of the country. The topics for PI additionally included the CV of the student including the above topics.
