Course Curriculum Overview
As you know all engineering colleges syllabus are getting old and out of trend. So don't focus too much on syllabus, only study to get a good GPA for show off...I mean to qualify company cutoff. Only pay attention to core CS subjects like CN, C, DAA, DSA,DBMS etc they will help you in placements (if you are lucky.)So curriculum is same as other colleges covering all gate syllabus topics in terms of relevance. Exams: As BPUT conducts your semister exams so they can happen any time, you will be informed before 1-2 week and semisters can end in 3-4 months, come prepared. Questions level is leetcode medium to hard...I mean you never know it's a surprise but preparation can be done for exams in 2-3 weeks. PYQs get repeated and give some hints to your preparation . If you get a back (failed) in any exam you can reappear that paper in next semister by again registering and paying to BPUT. There is no expectations of improvement in academics and unless college gets autonomous.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are less but presented, if you have skills and industry required qualities you will get one. Generally developer roles are offered of different coding languages and frameworks like java spring boot backend, js react developer, python developer etc....some AI/ML roles like analyst roles are too offered.
Placement Experience
Placement is currently in avg condition every year 100+ companies are visiting mostly service based companies like Wipro, Infosys, Deloitte, IBM and early startups, but salaries they are offering are bellow avg....may be due to current market condition or lack of desired skills....so be different from the bunch or prepare hard to grab the only dream company that the clg will present. From sixth semister you can sit in placements try to grab a internship from the clg visiting companies before 8th semister. Genuinely less than 60% of people are getting placed in here coz of lack in skills and preparation amid students not entirely clg's fault. Highest package by clg visiting companies will be 6-8lpa at max. Lowest salary is 2.5lpa .
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure is affordable, little less compared to its competitor colleges. But every year tution and hostel fees keeps on increasing. If you scores 70percentile or above in JEE mains you can get a 80% fee waiver (under TFW scheme) by govt. of Odisha, but apply to it during OJEE councelling forum fillup. You can apply to state government scholarships, college will help you once you join. And you can get an amount between 20k - 80k depending upon reservation, family income and academics. We pay 54k as semister fees including all charges excluding hostel and transport cost as a day scholar but now it is more. If you can convince any professor to keep you as an research assistant you can have some stipend but that chance is rare.
Campus Life
During jan-feb college organise its annual tech and tri fest along with a star night. During tech fest several technology and entertainment related events and competitions are conducted for fun and knowledge, winners are also get paid between 2-5k. Tri fest is like annual function where you can participate in dance, singing, band , acting etc events. And Star night is the one to enjoy where a bunch of famous singers are invited to sing. Library is average you can get all your semister exam books, magazines and journals. You can also get computer access in library. Class rooms are well spaced with attached projectors but air conditioning is not there in classrooms so in summer it's a problem. Labs and auditoriums have AC. There are bunch of tech and communication and social service clubs for you to explore but I didn't find them useful but you may, they are in growth phase like hackathon club, donation club, speech waivers club, aiot club, robotics club, thinkqbator startup club etc.
Admission
Admission to this college can be done through OJEE councelling. Better to apply the councelling through Jee Mains marks not the state government exam called as OJEE. You can check the OJEE site and apply in the councelling process and keep the college as your first choice to get it. If you score above 60 percentile you can easily get a computer science related branch. And there is also a fee waiver under TFW scheme available under govt. of Odisha as the college is registered under BPUT( Odisha's govt. University). Apply the fee waiver if you score above 75 percentile in JEE Mains. You can check the fees (hostel, semister, placement) on Trident's website to check on with your budget. College Environment: As fees is less and cut off is low you won't get a lot of good/carrier oriented/goal oriented students here . There is a lack of a coding culture but improving . But as competition is low and if you will do hard work you can get benifits out of it.
